I can't say I've been out and about since March, but in prior years, Pret have had a go at a version which have been ok. The best places in London are around Hoxton and the fringes of Shoreditch where a vietnamese little community has developed. A chain has developed to a decent degree called Pho which has always been to a decent standard.

I do love a good Bun Cha though and will make it myself.

I did a street food tour in Hanoi with a food blogger and tried allsorts of things out there. Some were a revelation, some were... a bit more i'm a celebrity get me out of here! ;-)

Five Guys do amazing burgers. The closest one is centertainment, but they package them well enough that you can easily get to Barnsley and it still be nice and warm.

Very ******* expensive though. Talking like £15 or so for a meal for 1. Honestly worth it though, nicest burger I’ve ever had.

I've never been in five guys, seeing burgers in tin foil just put me off to be honest.

Byron, before it changed hands a dozen times was really good, but not anymore (if it still exists). But the best burgers I've had are generally in pubs. The Albion in Kingston upon Thames does a great chicken burger with basil mayo, but the bestest burgers are Cask at Pimlico. Their christmas burger with mini roast rosemary potatoes is a thing of genius and one of the things I'll miss most this festive season. Almost to the point we're considering trying to recreate it at home!

I know it sounds hyperbolic to say it’s the best burger I’ve had etc. But I really do think it is. Hand made seconds before they go onto the grill and just superb. The chips are lovely too, all fried in peanut oil.

First one I saw was near Libertys in London and then another sprang up at Bluewater. I'm not a fan of the garish americanised diner themed places either, so I think the vivid decor put me off before even giving it a try. So many great gastropubs (well there were in february!) that we'll always aim for one of those and have some really good beer too.

Last time I went in a Byron was over a year ago and it was really disappointing, they'd upped prices a lot and the flavour compared to what it used to be like was shocking. Another business ripped to bits by VCs ping ponging it back and forth til the debt got too high and couldn't be leveraged anymore.

Meat Liquor can be ok depending which one you go in, but I don't know what they do to them but your fingers smell for days afterwards!!!

I love Jamaican food, living in Sale we have a few Jamaican places just up the road in Stretford, Old Trafford and Hulme.

The spices in the curries are wonderful, so different from Indian curries.

And they do amazing juices and punches too.

Mmmm, curry goat, rice and peas and Guinness punch.

If you like Thai food, then " Thai on the Square" on Cross Square, Wakefield is well
worth a visit. Great menu to suit all tastes and extremely courteous service.

If anyone is celebrating a birthday, they donate a cake with candles on it and everybody
in the room joins in in a rendition of " Happy birthday". Nice touch.
