Proved his worth tonight, made some balls stick, made a nuisance of himself, gave us a presence up front.
He lacks finesse but certainly helped shift the load off woodrow with bits of hold up play that we havent seen before. Cue Red Rain telling us how these tactics = the team that scores first wins to nil...
Needs to improve his first touch but he definitely made an impact. More effective than Thomas, Frieser or Chaplin.
I think he had a good game. If only his first touch was there a couple of times he might have even had a goal / assist
Q, When he played for the youngsters and scored plenty was he a hold up forward or a fox in the box type?
Offers something different and he's got some good attributes to work with. Well done Victor and keep going!
Probably not the long term answer to our striking problems but he gives the opposition defenders much more to think about than Thomas,Chaplin etc so until the transfer window opens he deserves to play for me.
Me neither. Fortunately the move for the penalty did stick but everything else bounced ten yards off. Put himself about though and ran his channel pretty well. I thought Frieser's extra bit of quality was obvious those last 15 minutes or so.
Works hard, showed one moment of quality with an excellent turn on their defender. Also had a good chance to score but his first touch failed him, as it often did tonight. I think the problem is most of our forwards look better coming on as subs against tired legs, but a bit clueless when starting. For instance, I thought Frieser did well when coming on tonight, but has been poor last couple games.
He’s fortunate that our other attacking options are pretty poor but he’s making the most of his opportunities & on tonight’s performance deserves to keep his place in the team
