I'm not one usually for studying the tables. But had a gander this morning.

Only 4 points separate the top 10 club's!!!!! Astonishing that.

It's 12 and 8 in L1 & L2 although they haven't played the same number of games (due to the Cup) as we have in ours.

I've absolutely no idea what relevance this is but thought I'd share it anyway.

    Thanks.

Of the 8 games to take us to the halfway point. 5 are against teams below us. Which means we’ve played 12 out of the first 15 against teams above us
    Food for thought.

after 15 games last season we were second bottom on 9 points, stoke were bottom on 8. Hull however were on 22 points, astoishinly with 19 games to go Hull were on 39 points, didnt realise how bad their slump was.

When Hull won on New Years Day last season, they were in 8th place and just 1 point behind the playoffs. Some slump that :)

I'm finding us doing well bittersweet, I've really struggled to get into watching it on ifollow. I just feel a massive disconnect not actually going to the games. I just don't seem as bothered when we lose or as happy when we win or score a goal.

If anything, I'm shouting louder sat at home than I would at Oakwell. I'm surprised the neighbours haven't been round to complain. My language has got worse too, now that I don't have to worry about those pesky kids in the seats next to mine. ;)

Wish I could get into it the same, I've never been a big fan of watching us in tv. Also I tend to try and make as many away games as I can a season. Really just can't get into it the same at all.
    Pleased others can though!

So that's a guaranteed 5 ***** performances against "teams like Wensdeh" then.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'd much rather be there at the game. The cameraman spends too much time staring at the managers for my liking and doesn't always track the ball properly. The comedy commentary is a plus, though. :D

Just looked. They picked up just 6 points from their last 20 games in 2020 in the Championship. Blinking Eck.

To be fair, we had 19 points after 15 games in 2017/18 and were relegated that season.

It’s strange isn’t it? The other night for example I was painting and had it on in the background. Still cheered and felt the emotion, but didn’t give the game my full attention, which I should be doing.

Other games tho, I can’t take my eyes off and react like I would in the ponty, forest was one. Went barmy. The Brentford game last season, never mind the neighbours I’m surprised the whole street didn’t come around thinking something was up.:D

We're as close to top of the league as we are to the bottom 3!

End of last season I was still heavily invested and felt part of it. The new season and not going at all just feels strange. Still watching, still want us to win but just not feeling it the same. Yours is a good example, I find my mind wondering off the action in a way i don't when I'm at the game.

I was thinking back to that season and remembering that we were doing alright up to around November - we beat Burton 4-2 on Halloween, picked up a rare point at Norwich and Harvey Barnes was banging them in - we had the same record after 15 games and actually had a positive goal difference! We were 3 places further down in 16th though.

What happened after is best not spoken about...but I'm hoping that this team has the bottle and ability to not go down that route again.

Edit: despite what I said about not speaking about it, I've checked and we only won 1 of our next 15 games before Hecky departed. Surely we can do better this time?

When they announced that crowds were going back to football - Wifi (who hates footy), said "Thank God you're going back" - Not realising that we don't qualify. She complains every week about my swearing and shouting from my office whilst watching on iFollow and closes my office door so she can watch Bellenders in relative peace lol

This is actually really positive sounding. We've already had this season's managerial change and it's given us a real boost. Two of our biggest assets, Woodrow and Styles, have each signed long new contracts so if they do leave we should hopefully get decent money for them, we just need to work on getting Mowatt to sign back on. Even if he doesn't, there's Kane to come in, although I'm doubtful we'll keep James.

Its not the same at all watching on iFollow/TV as being there but its a lot better than nothing
Id love to be back in the ground - but not driving 200 miles to sit by my self with just 1999 others in a 23000 seater stadium. At least when watching at home I can do a zoom pub meeting with others and have a moan at the ref and Thomas at half/full time. Not the same as being in the pub but again better than nothing
