Callum Brittain... Again... Other than that, I'm towing. But I think it was just one of those games. Forget about it, and onto the next one.
I think there were plenty. We kept battling, we created chances, Thomas played a lot better tonight when he came on. Just a few off the top of my head.
I agree. I think it's important we don't dwell on the negatives. To be honest there weren't that many. If I were Sollbauer or Helik I'd feel let down by players around me or in front of me. If I was Chaplin or Brittain I'd be miffed at attacking players not gambling etc. It was one of those sorts of night. The individual errors cost the team.
I thought Vic had a better outing today and I was a bit surprised when they took him off. I’d certainly give him a few more starts
Brittain had an excellent game. Victor did ok while he was on. Much of the rest was abject at best. Walton had an absolute mare, but hopefully he got lots of mistakes out of the way against the likely champions.
The players didn't let their heads drop, and kept looking for a goal even at 0-4. I support Barnsley, not Real Madrid, and so I don't demand quality, but I do expect them to stick at the task until the end. They did exactly that, even when they were well beaten. Yeah, the individual mistakes are bad, and we missed a couple of chances - the ones where the ball was played across the face of goal - that I am sad we didn't convert. But if you take your craft seriously, want to do well, and continue to plug away even when you're overmatched, those qualities will likely see you right in the future.
The numerous mistakes leading to goals - Woodrow for the 2nd, Anderson giving a stupid free kick then Kane ducking in the wall for the 3rd and Kane giving the ball away and Walton possibly could have been stronger too for the 4th - were all done in the same game, rather then spread across multiple games.
I think we were poor because they made us poor. They were a good side, faster and stronger than us all over the pitch. We didn't give up, and on another day could have had 4 goals ourselves. Onwards and upwards. COYR
Our head coach called it right. We did create chances (that is becoming a familiar story), we did keep playing until the end, we did make too many mistakes and Bournemouth are a good side. I would add that virtually everything went right for them last night and thing did not go our way. CORY
Too many mistakes and giving away posession meant we contributed to our own downfall. Bournemouth capitalised on this and in the end the score flattered them. Our finishing was abysmal and time and time again the ball flashed across the box but nobody got on the end of them. If only we had a striker capable of holding the ball up and bringing othets into play instead of the ball pinging about until we lose posession in the final third.
