Millwall Fans

Same can be said of religious factions. e.g. Northern Ireland ... Remind me again when was the battle of the Boyne? And yet the Orangemen who parade annually weren't born then, nor were their fathers or their fathers or their fathers. Kids don't come out of the womb anti Catholic or anti protestant it is their parents and adults who perpetuate the prejudice and bigotry. To a lesser extent, whilst the wrongs of Orgreave are for example are still raw for those that were caught up in the strike and especially those who suffered injustice, I find it sad that there are kids and youths, albeit a minority, that were not even born but still demonstrate bigotry... e.g. 'scab' calls and animosity towards others many of whom were not even born when the strike happened. Some certainly are not getting it from reading books and articles on the subject as they are barely able to string two sentences together let alone read!

There are people on this BB rightly bitter about what happened but I ask, is it right to 'visit the sins of that fathers and all that' and teach their kids to hate, even if they do so unwittingly or unintentionally. (Kids when young and impressionable do listen and pick up on things said between adults).

 

Surely not from the "Family Club" of the season.

The justification for booing was, apparently, because "politics should stay out of football".

Whilst I don't necessarily disagree with that statement in isolation, using it in this instance is absolute ********. If you booed the display of solidarity by those on the pitch there's only one reason you've done so, and its because you don't like those pesky blacks getting all uppity and wanting equality. I.e, you're a racist.

Ha - in that case, no poppies on football shirts, no minute's silence, and no Last Post.

I bet they'd find that perfectly reasonable.

 

They are morons. If they think politics and football should be separated, they are completely wrong. Football and politics have always been linked throughout the world, for good and bad reasons. It was literally the title of my dissertation. It is basically them making an excuse for being racist.

Also, Jesus h Christ why do they care so much. It takes like three seconds and doesn’t affect their viewing of the game, the players on the pitch are still the same.

I don't agree with it now but would never boo and i certainly don't condone booing but sadly it's all about opinions and we arnt all going to agree.

They have summat to live up to. The only club where I think the majority of fans are scared to speak out. Against the morons. For fear of reprisals.

A large minority I would agree with. But not the majority. Imo.

 

It needs someone to take a stand. I've had a quick look at the Millwall team today, and they only had 1 black player in their 20 man squad. Maybe that's the issue, the solidarity isn't necessarily there, and players are just going through the motions with it all now.
