OK - taking a stand against racism in football. Fine. How about homophobia and discrimination and oppression of the LGBT? community? Does that need addressing in football? Me too? Female referees assistants being subject to vile sexual chanting? General attitudes to women in the sport. That could do with looking at. Taking the knee in my opinion is now meaningless tokenism, I don't condone booing the practice, and I deplore racial oppression and ill treatment but I think the point has now been made,it should stop, and the game should look at other areas of discrimination that it is deeply guilty of...
Not agreeing to take the knee every time has nothing to do with not supporting BLM. It’s not a whites only belief. People choose to do it or not. The point has been made for some who think it should be done less often as it devalues its cause. And should concentrate on Racism for all ethnicities. Some are offended at the term. Be it right or wrong. And try make a case. It may be misguided. But doesn’t make em racists. More than likely the opposite.
My opinion is that every one of those Millwall fans who booed the knee tonight is a racist pri.ck. That’s my view.
I can’t believe Millwall fans haven’t been swayed by the actions of a black American criminal to embrace the spectacle of their team paying homage to a Marxist ideology and the politicisation of their sport. This really does surprise me
Barnsley fans were tarred when a single moron. ( who I believe was swiftly dealt with by our own) Had a go at Billy Sharpe over the death of his child. The Bruce Dyer chant was spoken in the media as a monkey chant against our own player. Nowt further from the truth. Ian Wright incident tarred us all as racists in the media. Cos of a few morons. Point being. minorities causing issues for the majority.
I’m not tarring all Millwall fans. I’m tarring the ones who booed the knee. On their first game back. Animals.
Why not? Let players take the knee and let people boo. Then make an announcement that those booing in future will be banned. Why isn’t that possible, legally? With 2000 in the ground it ought not to be too hard to identify them. There’s some drivel posted on here that passes for comment about BLM. One regular and very decent poster on here said recently that his other half won’t go to games because she has heard racist remarks. It was striking how the “debate” (i.e. drivel) continued on that thread, ignoring this actual, real, felt experience of someone who feels uncomfortable going to games. Meanwhile some enjoy continuing to post about whether taking a knee is somehow a submissive act. Risible. Ask Palmer, Adeboyejo, Oduor if they think they’re being submissive. I doubt it. So how about Barnsley Football Club taking the lead? Let’s tell people who boo that they aren’t welcome.
The difference being though that we all saw first hand the thousands of Millwall pricks at Wembley and how almost their entire fanbase condoned it, how their club defended it and how their supporters trust defended it
Read it back Marc got shut of the misnomer and edited afore you replied. Sorry for the confusion. I’d misunderstood.at first.
Wouldnt boo it but wouldn't do it. Snowflake world we live in. Sorry if you disagree but its dividing people more if anything.
There's a million miles of difference between not taking a knee and booing those that do. The latter group are 100% c*nts
