Excellent. I'm so glad our club is making this stance. There is no place for homophobic and discriminatory language in society today.

Well done Barnsley Football Club. :)

There is also going to be a major campaign for all football clubs and fans to support their local picture framers. The FA and EFL have already offered their support and players will be asked to make that square shaped thing with their fingers, like Son at Spurs does, for 30 seconds before each game. He has already bought into the idea, I'm pleased to say.
So they'll all be on one knee, fiddling with their rainbow laces and then making shapes with their fingers.
I love this inclusivity thing, it's getting really daft.

    What an absolutely hilarious comment.

Don't know how you come up with such genius comments.

I'm all for it. I t shouldn't be down to football clubs though. I take that stance for any political messages. I attend football for a release from the everyday not to be reminded of it. It's nothing to do with football how society feels.

I think homophobic language will be harder to eradicate than racist language. People make homophobic remarks without even noticing they're doing it. How many have been called a big Jessy in their time? It sounds soft but it's homophobic if taken that way.

well said Stephen, remember the days when you did not have to be outraged by every single thing 24/7, it wears you out, everyone's brains are going to explode, shut down facebook and twitter and lets get back to being normal

I remember the days when people were openly racist sexist and homophobic. Oh aye that’s now.

Great initiative shows support without lecturing anyone.

Language has changed. Things I said when I was growing up I wouldn’t dream of saying now. That’s a good thing.

Ironically those that whine about ‘being outraged by every single thing’ are the only ones outraged.

was I really bad personally? Comparatively probably not and I have never ben racist but societal mores were different and I didn’t understand the hurt and damage caused by words. I certainly used the word ‘poof’ when I was a kid without knowing it’s origins.

As for the last sentence to be clearer those who moan about ‘snowflakes’ are the most likely to be offended and moan about it.

I’ve been supporting Barnsley for 45 years and been a season ticket holder for the last 30, but I’ve finally had enough of all this rubbish, they can go shove it, I’ve finished with them

You've had enough of a stance being taken against racism and homophobia?

    Wow.

If you've "finished" with BFC because they're supporting equality for minority groups (both ethnic and/or LGBTQ) then I dare say we're much better off without you.

Absolutely, but anyone that's offended enough by a stance against racism and homophobia to withdraw their support can do one. When we're back in Oakwell it will be a better place without them.

And if that opinion is a load of absolute hateful ******** then you're allowed to call it out as such.
