Just googled it and it says his contract expires in 2021 and he's on £32k per week. As far as we can believe everything on google like
I reckon we could probably stretch to 14k, but would it represent good value for a player who will rarely play 90 minutes, and is quite injury prone?
He doesn't match the profile of a permanent signing, although we have bent the rules to sign Sollbauer. I would imagine James will want to see out his contract with the Foxes, but in the current financial environment he is unlikely to get that much from a future contract. However, one of the richer Championship clubs or one with Premier League parachute payments may take an interest and would out bid us.
If we sign him permanent, I'll show mi bare ar5e on tarn hall steps. No chance. Reckon we are paying around 30% of his wage, currently.
No chance of signing him if he has 18 months left on £32k a week. Extending his loan may be an option i guess, if he is considered surplus to requirements. I hope we can, but if not hopefully the youngsters have learned plenty from him & he won't be too badly missed.
He’s not going to be kept on at Leicester but by the same token I don’t think we should break our wage structure either. If he wants to join us he will. If not he leaves with my best wishes.
Given that he really really wanted to sign for us (unlikely) and that his thinking wasn't all about money (unlikely but not unheard of) couldn't he extend his loan and sign a pre-contract agreement, retaining his Leicester salary until the summer and then becoming our player? With loss of earnings maybe sweetened by a player-coach role?
With the amount of games he's missed through injury throughout his career I would imagine he'll stay at Leicester as long as he can then go to the place paying the highest wages just in-case he continues to be plagued by injury.
