Next season we copied what the blunts are doing this year? It’s a yes from me, but it’d be a depressing year
I know I might be the opposite to everyone else, but I wouldn't want it if we couldn't see it. Mid table championship finish here please.
I'd be happy to get promotion; avoid relegation, even by one point, and then invest the parachute payments intelligently (when it inevitably happens).
I don’t think I could cope with a season like the Blunts if we managed promotion, I would settle for a top half finish this year and then push on next year, we would be stronger and have more financial clout if we hold on to the team this and the next window.
Absofeckinglutely. The money we get would set us up for years to come. Not that I think we'll get remotely near to being promoted, nor do I think we'd fare as badly as dem Blades if we did.
Copied in what way losing all there matches !! or by not blowing all there yearly money you get from being in the premiership you get around 170/80 million and they have been spending around 50/60 million per year. the club will have money in the bank and will be in a very strong position if the drop down to the championship to push for promotion again in theory but i would presume a large number of there fans wont be very happy and would be looking at it in that they haven't "tried" to stay in the premiership
One season in the premier league could set us up as a championship club for years. Besides, if you're not going to have a go then why bother!
You always have to aim for promotion(as both a club and a fan), otherwise what is the point? Also the financial aspects of promotion could secure the clubs future for years to come(if the funds are used sensibly), and raise the clubs profile and help attract the better players, like last time when we managed to attract relatively big names(for us, anyway) the following seasons like Dyer, Shipperley, and Hignett. I still say that we would have stopped up the following season if we had beaten Ipswich at Wembley, which would have probably meant we the admin wouldn't have happened...
Yes, my mates are all owls and the bragging rights just to say we are in prem and they are L1 and we spent bugger all compared to them would be so funny
Absolutely go up and come back down and invest the money wisely. Football always has been about money to some degree but now it's virtually the sole determining factor.
Suppose the other consolation if we did get up again sometime is that dem blades new record is unbeatable
Would be gutted if we went up and we couldn't be in the stadium. Let's face it if we ever did sneak up we would likely be coming back down. Would just enjoy the experience, but again only if we could actually go, I really struggle to enjoy watching us on ifollow. I'm the same when we are away and I don't go.
No I would like play off final for 3 consecutive years get to late stages of fa cup in them same 3 years, invest the money we get in them 3 years and then get promoted and spend 10 years in premiership surviving the relegation zone by a point every year That's the plan
I don't even know if I'd want us to go up. It'd be fvcking brilliant for a bit, until the magic wore off, and your choices are: 1) Be like the Pigs, and take one point from 48, making your relegation a formality before the Christmas decorations are down (or even, in some cases, up.) 2) Be like West Brom, and appoint Corpulent Sam to hoofball your way to safety. The journey is better than the destination for most Premier League clubs. I say the above, and it's what I feel, but when others have expressed similar views, my answer has always been: what's the point, then, if you don't want the club to be the best it can be? And I guess I don't know.
Yes, because we would have knocked down the **** hole West Stand and at least would have a nice complete ground
I'm conflicted. I hate the Premier League money-go-round and don't really want any part of it. But if it meant the club achieved a much more secure financial base longer term, it's something I'd have to live with. Results weren't all bad last time around and I'm sure we would enjoy some highs as well as lows. For all the hammerings we took, we also had some good times in the Prem. Another aspect... What do people think the owners would do if we were promoted? The club would be a much more valuable commodity as a Premier League outfit, even if we didn't stay there long. Time to cash in their chips, maybe? Then what? Or would they stick around a take a cut of the cash bonanza?
No, were As long as they didn't sell Walton, Solly, Anderson and Woodrow and replace them with under 21s who'd never even played in the championship!
