Yep, there were horses at the top of the lane. If you were near the front you were likely to get trod on, 5hit on, or your face pressed up against a horses ar5e.

I was contacted by someone on here a couple of years ago who had heard about me and said him family had some tapes.
This game was in among them. Other than that I have no clue how it came I to existence.

 

That lane had walls as I remember with supporting buttresses every 10 yards or so. You could hardly breathe as you were swept past them. It was awful. My dad said someone would be killed if they fell over. A couple of years before the Hillsborough disaster I reckon. Great game though.

That Railway End was full though, with Reds fans all over the ground. Estimates of up to 10,000 Reds, clearly outnumbering the home fans.

Ronnie Moore (complete with hat) scored two that day and was one of the Division’s leading scorers that year. Yet I never heard a single Reds fan then or since say they’d swap him for Big Trev or Derrick Parker. Oh, and he conceded a penalty to get us back to 2-2.
