The people of Kent, where 59% voted for brexit, now kicking off big style about the traffic congestion - ha fekin ha.
There's nothing wrong with Blair, he did more good than bad while in office. A succession of British PMs have unquestionably lent their support to America in the past.
The best times of my life were either side of the Millenium - probably around 98-05 (apart from marrying my beautiful wife of course - in case she's reading this...). Blair was in charge for this period, therefore I've got fond memories of him - even though I don't agree with a few things he oversaw.
I know it’s not a popular opinion but I think he did a lot of good things. I’d much rather have him in charge now, that’s for sure.
"Nothing wrong with blair" I think the parents of soldiers from the Iraq war may disagree with that statement.
The parents of those expected to serve in Northern Ireland under Operation Banner would agree though.
Do you honestly think if the Tories were in government we wouldn't have gone to war? I, like Jeremy Corbyn, opposed it but we keep being told that he and his ilk are unelectable
Not really the point though is it, people on here have gone mad comparing how corbyn would have handled the pandemic. The man is a war criminal.
That is no different to the 'what about Corbyn' posts we see regularly. Tony Blair commited serious war crimes. He lied in order to trick MPs I to voting for an illegal war which directly led to the deaths of thousands of people and has led to the rise in racism in the UK, and hundreds if not thousands of deaths at the hands of terrorists created by his crimes. I think it's playing those disgraceful actions down by saying 'yeah but someone else might have done it too'.
Apparently, (and this is true, there's a dossier on it and everything) D Ream was the second choice. First they approached Paul Weller to use "Changing Man" and he told them where to go. I can only imagine whoever wanted that hadn't actually listened to it as the next line to I'm a changing man is "built on shifting sand"........shame the mod father refused really, would have been more appropriate
I'm not meaning to play it down ( hence me demonsrating against the war at the time) but yes, those Tories slamming Blair would still have backed Bush.
Such nonsense. Blair placed the evidence he relied upon in the House of Commons Library and invited MP's to form their own judgement. He offered MP's not one, but two votes on entering into military action. Both votes passed by a majority of all MP's by 75%+. MP's are elected to form their own judgment, and came to the same conclusion. Saddam had a history of mass genocide and was refusing access to weapons inspectors. What other conclusion could be drawn? The most sensible, moderate politician of that era (in my opinion), Alan Johnson concluded that presented with the same information now he would have taken the same decision. Any second-guessing in terms of what we know now is after-timing.
