Given that iFollow commentary is largely done by Club media teams and ex-players, should we still expect it to be impartial, or is it fair enough that they will generally favour their own team?

Was listening to the the Rotherham match yesterday, and the bias throughout the game from John Breckin & co was doing my nut in.

If you can access both streams i don't mind sometimes I do one half us and one half the opposition commentary. It makes you see our players differently sometimes. I do find it a bit grating when it is really biased though, one of the reasons I don’t enjoy watching England sometimes.

I enjoyed their commentary, even though it was biased, which I would expect, but it was very funny

Weve all been spoiled by Matt Bailey's unbiased commentary that any other commentary we hear just doesnt measure up to his....... and therefore fails miserably short compared to the Man himself

And yet some complain about Matt....unbelievable.....hes the best yet

If you read this Matt....all the best buddy ...I for one appreciate your work and your commitment

I wouldn't consider the Rotherham duo as commentators. They didn't seem to commentate on anything that tracked the game, tactics, game plan etc. All i heard was two blokes similar to what you hear in the stands week in week out calling for every foul, throw in, foul throw etc etc in their favour (where it obviously was or not). Went down a few rabbit holes on some subjects.

What i like about Matt is the work he does in prep, studies stats and elements of interest to colour the commentary while not letting that let him drift from the commentary. Having someone like Wayne alongside or Barnard etc brings that ex pro angle and adds something.

Im happy for commentators to be biased in who they want to win and support but i do expect some balance and honesty in what actually plays out. I think Matt et al give us that.

I really enjoy Matt's commentary and wouldn't want to listen to other club's biased commentary. Matt every time for me

Suspect he's not on here anymore. I like Matt. It's fine having the passion, but you want an honest assessment, which I think he delivers. That's my opinion anyway. each to their own.

I suppose that our opposition supporters would find Matt’s commentary biased, it’s just that we don’t hear notice it.

Don't agree. He is no better than the others I have heard and he often gets things wrong just like they seem to. Personally, I much prefer the Radio Sheffield commentaries.

I’d accept the bias; that’s a given, but those two lads last night came across like two annoying ****s you end up sat next to at the match. Almost no actual commentary, just a series of ‘that’s a foul’, ‘that’s our throw/corner’, ‘he’s fallen over’, ‘that’s offside’ for the whole 90’. Not just biased, but piss-poor with it.

I’m with you here. Nothing against Matt at all, he doesn’t seem as biased as others which is good. But he gets so much wrong that it annoys me at times, I get that they’re in the stadium and miss things without replays but some things are so obvious. For example last night when their lad Lindsay got booked, it was clear as day the referee waved a yellow card and the commentary team were puzzled as to why the ref didn’t book him.

Personally I much prefer the radio Sheffield commentary.

Worst ever. Moon came on for his debut. Instead of mentioning that, they started talking about the moon. "Big init tonight" or going on about a header he scored against Harrogate Town in 1978.

Did people actually choose to listen to Rotherham’s commentary yesterday or are they not aware you can select the home or away one?

I like Matt’s commentary, he does make the odd error but that’s understandable as he often doesn’t have the benefit of replays. Just biased enough without venturing anywhere near John Pearson / Keith Edwards territory imho.

Other teams fans will probably disagree but i think Matt Bailey and Wayne Goodison have been brilliant of late. Well informed, knowledgeable about both sets of players, focusing on the game on the pitch and very fair to both teams. That’s through my eyes though. That last night I thought was verging on ridiculous. Like a few have said, 90 minutes of claiming every decision, in between talking about their careers 30 years ago. A lovely section on Rimmo though, so fair play on that.

Goodison has done a great job as well - talks a lot of sense and demonstrates he still loves the club without going over the top. Really good in last few games of last season
