The length of exposure is one of the most important factors though, you don't spend 15 minutes+ tagging along next to a stranger within 2 metres of them and both you and them are wearing a mask. A classroom has 30 kids plus teacher plus support staff in the same small room for over 6 hours a day with none of them wearing masks.
I think you’re missing the point a little... schools aren’t safe for the community not just the teachers. “Bubbles” of up to 300 students are commonplace. These sit together in classes, social areas and lunch halls. These 300 students then mix with their brother and sisters in other year groups. Then other year groups on school buses or outside the school gates. In school they often act as they always used to do, wrestling, playing football, hugging, etc. Then they go home to their parents, grandparents, etc.. Once one gets the virus, it spreads quickly, but hasn’t been widely reported... that’s why many of you will know your child has been asked to isolate. Many will be doing zoom/teams/online office lessons from home. Some schools are insisting teachers are in school.
Oh don’t worry, I’m not ignoring the issue at hand, schools should really be shut I think, I’m just pointing out a different issue.
The wife works at the kids hospital in Sheffield, dramatically more kids being admitted this time, more than the first wave,
Science lessons arent taking place in science labs on the whole because of having to divide schools into different year groups. So yes, lessons could be delivered at home or in school.
The Tories are once again using their divide and conquer tactic trying to make a section of society in this case the teachers the bad guys in order to cover up the government's complete and utter colossal **** up of the pandemic. We have without doubt the most incompetent PM and cabinet in the country's history. I wouldn't send my kid to school in the current circumstances, all the evidence points to schools being the driver of the current spike in cases Boris and co just won't admit it. They shouldn't just be ousted as the government they should be up on charges of corporate manslaughter for all the government employees that have died because of Boris and co incompetence but also face manslaughter charges for the tens of thousands of unnecessary deaths in the general population that have occurred. There's a reason we have a death toll much bigger than the rest of Europe and that reason is Bojo the clown and his troop of fools.
It could be worse your sons teacher could be a sex pervert that likes fiddling with little boys. I think when it comes to anything "hot off the press" a little perspective should be applied. We've been getting to grips as a nation with Covid since last March.
This is being forced on teachers to close schools - they then look like the bad guys. Just had a message one of my schools is closed tomorrow
It's a question that could apply to many vacations. I work for the NHS im not a Doctor why do I need to go to work? I get your point n' liked your post but I think we're a bit far in now to ask where's our shield/ day off etc. That ships sailed. Danger money before inflated taxes and free public transport for those risking everything is another matter.
Sorry but teaching kids aged 7-9 and our schools done nothing virtually. Just get sent a batch of work at the start of a week on a Monday morning and a message from the teacher to get in touch if any issues. That’s it. Absolutely woeful for parents working full time from home. Not saying kids should go in to school but I do feel that education departments having lost a significant part of this last year where no effort was made to change or modernise and now we in the exact same position again and nothings changed.
