No, we should play every day for the next six weeks. I need something to get me through the home schooling.
Don’t care about the Premier. The SPL should be cancelled immediately and restarted when it’s safe to do so. The Championship should continue unless we hit a rocky patch.
I hope not. For purely selfish reasons. It gives me something to look forward to during lockdown with so many games on at different times. The plus side is with a stricter lockdown it’s harder for the players to break the rules going forward so hopefully the chances of more games been called off reduces.
I think it’s the opposite of the first bit. It shows they fully understand perfectly that there is a miniscule risk to themselves - and they’re too selfish to be arsed about all the rest of it.
I'm just about in this camp at the minute, but I see the other argument. One thing that needs to be done however is the Premier League / EFL have to bring in rules to sanction those breaking COVID-19 rules, which should involve heavy fines & suspensions for those flouting the rules. Leaving it to clubs is ridiculous, as the case of Mendy at Man City illustrates. This is also on the basis that ambulance staff are not required at grounds, given there is no crowd. If this were the case, my vote goes the other way.
No. If we left it to Bojo the Clown, he would wait until there was one game to go before cancelling the season.
I would personally say no, for a couple of reasons. firstly, it's a small but important respite for people. secondly, they have the HUGE luxury of being able to put testing protocols in place. that said, I really do think there need to be some changes to the rules, and some serious sanctions in place for those breaking the rules. it's now very obvious that a section of these so-called 'elite' people, consider themselves above the law. I think anyone found breaking the rules should be heavily smashed. and if the clubs themselves are not prepared to do it, the lawmakers should. in a way that hurts their employers. fines don't work. that's clear. I'm talking about long bans or points deductions.
Any player caught breaking protocol would immediately be free transferred to Sheffield Wednesday and made to sign a six year minimum wage contract. That should provide a deterrent?
If any teams can't fulfil their FA Cup ties due to Covid cases at their club, they forfeit the game. Derby looking likely to withdraw.
I'd agree with this. Any player caught breaking the rules should have a mandatory ban for 5 games and have to pay a punitive fine (1/2 weeks wages) that goes towards the various charities helping those affected by Covid. There is an argument about an ambulance of some kind being needed (think Iain Hume or other serious injuries), but probably not more than one - maybe St Johns could provide that service for a donation.
In my opinion football should continue , it is a business & employs many staff , it has testing etc & strict guidelines which of course should be strictly adhered to & obviously no crowds , my biggest concern that if the season was to be fully curtailed then a lot of these businesses/clubs will fold , the TV companies will not pay for a product they are not getting & advertisers will stop using the prime time slots which football provides & I know I will be corrected ,but there may be an avenue for the sponsors to recover monies off the clubs if they do not meet the contract which would be a disaster for many clubs including ourselves. I also believe that while the population are spending so much time within the four walls , football as well as other popular pastimes provide a release valve for many people . I for one watch every reds match on I.follow & I also love my cricket & would be absolutely gutted if the up & coming England test matches & football was cancelled .
Only if we go into free fall and end up in the bottom 3. Oh and Wigan are somehow close to promotion.
No, why should it? Elite level athletes, all fitter and healthier than we could ever imagine to be. How many footballers who have caught COVID have ended up in ICU? Clubs (as well as everyone else) have had nearly a year now figure out procedures to keep exposure to more vulnerable people to a minimum.
