Suprised with williams many really rate him i think he had improved alot before his injury and obviously not played in a while.
Letting Williams go would be complete madness. Versatile and one of our best performers before injury. This signing allows Madds to play in the centre of the back three if needed, so it's now up to the CBs to perform as the first three don't automatically pick themselves.
My reasoning behind letting Williams go on loan for a month I might add was to get him match fit as there must be something not quite right for him not to make the squad.
Need to go back to Forest Green and make an offer for striker Ebou Adams. He's been getting rave reviews and would fit into our system under VI.
From the highlights I have seen, Liam looks to be more than capable of picking out a decent pass. Might be able to teach Mads a few things, which is probably the only poor part of Mads game at the moment.
Jordan Williams has been injured a lot recently, hence why he hasn't been playing or even in the squad
Sounds like a good signing. Leeds youth academy is decent background. Can't see him walking into the team, but you could have said that about Callum Brittain. More cover to allow Styles to play his natural position as well.
I believe he's been brought in to take Mads' current role. If he's fit and settles in quickly, then VI knows his best back 3 will be Sol, Mads, Kitching (with Helik as cover). Both Helik & Mads are way too good for a Championship bench so, if everything goes to plan, our new signing will become 'Liam Kerching'. First things first, need to see if he can make the step up.
This is a bit deep for me. I'm missing something. If I were a mathematician I'd ask you to show your logic. My logic for now is "iif it ain't broke don't fix it", plus who scored our winning goals from centre half that you want to drop?
No other interest from championship level then. Central defence was probably the one area I wouldn't have thought was critical for recruitment, especially in January in the current climate. Maybe the guy is so good we had to act sharpish. Seems a strange signing to me so far, it would indicate someone is on their way out I'd imagine.
That is my point, JP. I wouldn't want to drop Helik at all! Mads has been doing a phenomenal job playing out of position because he's a half decent left foot. I respect all opinions, but I see Mads as being the most talented centre back in the Championship with no exceptions. Sol, Helik, Mads are all right footed. So the facts are... Kitching is our only left footed centre half. VI plays 3-4-3, no compromise. Sol has right centre nailed, so it's a straight choice between Helik & Mads for centre. You may refer to the 2 goals, but Mads assisted both of those. This is a longer term view for me, but if Kitching settles in as quickly as Brittain, then it might just happen in this window.
A friend of mine is a Harrogate season ticket holder and he said Kitching is a very good player, can play centre, but best position is left back
