Yeah I don't that get that either. people got carried away really early saying 'where's this blue wall', just because Florida went red early. which was no real surprise because of the cuban/venezuelan population. All the commentary I was watching was saying, 'this is a red mirage, wait for the postal ballots'
Do you mean like the US pollsters that predicted such wide wins for Biden in certain states to discourage people from bothering to vote. That kind of thing? It is a different discussion though mate because I'm absolutely not talking about whether the Trump lead/Biden catch up was valid or not. I was just commenting on the general feeling out there that was swinging towards the Republican win. Nothing more. You might have valid claims to why that was, but it doesn't make the fact it was there any different. The biggest bet placed in political history was on Biden by the way - from the UK! Wonder how that guy was feeling as it swung one way and then the other with £1 million riding on it.
I'll take this one. Throckmorton is not a constitutional claim - it deals with a claim relating to land, and the question of whether a judgment can be re-examined given allegations of fraud in the legal proceedings leading to the judgment. It is not relevant. I don't think anyone is questioning the fact that if there were evidence of fraud then the election result could be challenged, however Trump has had a fair amount of time and produced nothing remotely compelling or persuasive, hence the various challenges being rejected. Even if Throckmorton did establish a constitutional precedent and the matters had not already been pursued through the courts and rejected then Trump would still need to evidence the fraud, and prove that it materially altered the result of the election. Loons will cherry pick "Fraud vitiates everything" and take it out of context to say that any fraud means that the election must be void. It cannot be the case that any fraud renders the election null and void - this would be nonsense, as it would always be possible to establish isolated incidents of fraud with any election, Therefore the loony argument would lead to the conclusion that all a losing candidate had to do is find one person who committed fraud and the entire election could be scratched off. Trump has had a fair amount of time now, and he's not been able to come up with any evidence of fraud which affected the election result.
no it wasn't. at no point was it looking like a nailed on trump victory. I watched every minute too. Florida went early. that was it. trump told his people to go out and vote in person, Biden told his people to do it by post. that's what happened. that's why there were truck loads of votes. because truck loads of people cast mailing ballots. can't wait for Wednesday though. is David Icke ITK?
Well researched Mansfield! I'm impressed. Loons may well cherry pick 'Fraud vitiates everything', as might political leaders. The question about whether there is sufficient fraud will be determined by SCOTUS, not you or I. I suspect if, as is being claimed, there is concrete evidence of Obama's treasonous involvement this may be presented as proof of fraud sufficient to render the election null and void. I suspect we will find out either way, pretty soon.
This thread should be recommended by the NHS for folk who feel like they’re losing it in the lockdown. Five minutes on here and they’ll be reassured they’re completely sane in comparison.
The sad thing about this thread is that there's actually a lot of valid comments, discussion, facts, opinions, etc. But they start and finish within a page. The other stuff is rapid and goes from one post to three pages in less than half an hour.
The only thing I'm expecting tonight is mass demonstrations and quite possibly violence on the streets. The big question then is what will Trump do, will he calm the situation or inflame it. The Republican party and GOP will know they're finished if they support such actions.
I had a 5 fold acca on Saturday, 3 had already landed due to the 2up on Bet365 and the others were winning 1-0. The winnings was £267, with the cash out at £150ish and slowly rising as we creeped into the last few minutes. By the end of the game it was at about £200. I left it to run as I felt the odds of it coming in at that point were a lot better than the cash out being offered, luckily both teams held out and I won the lot but shows how much the cash out can favour the bookie.
CNN is all over the fact that Pence can do nothing but preside. The crowd for Trump's speech looks less massive than for a game at Hillsborough! Gonna be a damp squib of a day folks! Boring is good!
