I think a lot of people are too critical, too quickly and spout off without knowing the facts. Im trying to learn this more as i get older, too much grief in the world a lot of people need to ease up a bit. Its not easy tho.
I've said this before and i'll say it again, the day i come home from Oakwell and the RL at Featherstone not moaning or ecstatic (usually moaning) is the day i stop going - its passion for my team's.
You’d rather win less and play more attractive football? I’m not sure I can get on board with that. All about opinions though!
Well assuming it’s a serious question and you’re genuinely interested. First, I think there’s a big and important distinction between ‘The Club’ and the current owners. I criticised the owners 12 months ago. I criticised them 12 weeks ago. Hell, I think I even at a pop at Paul Conway when posting in the ‘Inbetweeners video’ 12 hours ago! I suggested that he should have played one of the parts and that should be Jay inferring he was a bullshi$$er. I was devastated not to get a ‘like’ from YT. As you’ll gather I’m just not a fan of the Owners and if they left next week (well, maybe the end of the season) I wouldn’t be crying any tears. I’ve no malice against them individually I just think they have generally brought the most dreadful level of decision making on and off the pitch since they arrived - and they are still doing it - even this week. It’s masked because we’re football fans and when our team is doing well we tend not to see, or want to see, any problems. I understand that. To be fair I have seen some improvement. Our suicidal approach to incoming transfers in terms of age and loan signings appears to have been jettisoned, and if their decision making keeps on improving I would love to eat humble pie. I’ll even pledge £20 to a charity of Paul Conway’s choice. Oops better not - that went a bit tits up on another thread. Please don’t ask me to run through all the reasons for these views, there’s hundreds of threads if you want to look at them. Not seeking agreement or validation for these views, they are just my own. You did ask!
I stop going after every crap team selection, every bad defeat and rubbish Head Coach. I'll always be back though.
The ideal is always to play exciting attacking skilful football and win while playing it, but obviously that’s rare as a Barnsley fan! At the minute, I’m glad we’re not in the bottom three, and at times there are small pockets of skilful football, but the hoof just isn’t enjoyable to me and never will be. I’ll quote funboy three again.... it ain’t what you do, but the way that you do it.
That would be me and I am still very weary although the last 12 months have given me food for thought we still haven't replaced the striker we sold 18 months ago. If Mowatt and either Styles or Woodrow are sold without bringing in ready made replacements. Then the last two transfer windows will soon be forgotten. And I still haven't bought my season ticket!
