Maybe been posted already so apologies if so. London hospital trust cancels urgent cancer surgery due to Covid http://www.theguardian.com/society/...ust-cancels-urgent-cancer-surgery-covid-barts So we are now at the stage where different patients' lives are being prioritized. Utterly heart-wrenching.
I have prostate cancer and have 4 blood tests a year followed up by a Consultation. I also have a yearly MRI scan. I haven't seen my Consultant since Dec 2019, telephone consultations have taken place but they are a month behind. My blood tests have slipped back from 3 to 4 months. My MRI scan is also 6 months late. I had a scare in May and I really could have done with a face to face consolation just for my mental health. It's no fun living with cancer even if they tell you are low risk. I'm not a happy bunny. I'm in a FB group called Prostate Cancer UK and some of the advanced and terminal guys haven't been getting the drugs they need or radiotherapy.
It's awful, the quicker we get on top of COVID the better. My friend was just about to have an operation that would massively improve their quality of life before the November lockdown after waiting a long long time.I Medical staff must feel like crap not being able to do these operations too.Johnson let London down so badly by ignoring what was under his nose.
This government are completely reactionary which is absolute suicide during a pandemic instead of getting in front of it we are constantly chasing it and failing miserably. Sunak shouldn't be forgotten in all of this his pressure to keep London open in tier 2 has been a disaster as we are seeing now and he's disappeared since.
That's not good news, but take care of yourself and best of luck. Hopefully things start getting back on track soon
