I got our tickets from a woman who worked in the lab (she cleaned lab glassware). Her and her husband were shareholders at Cambridge United so it was pot luck where we got to stand....

I had no recollection of him playing, so I've googled the lineups. He did play! Along with Elneny currently of Arsenal, Hagazi of West Brom, and Yoshida, formerly of Southampton.

River Plate vs Newell Old Boys in 2006. Hugo Colace played for the away team.

Similarly, me and a mate went to a Mansfield v Torquay game on a Tuesday night simply because I'd never been to Field Mill and that was the nearest ground I'd not been on. With the score at 2-1 and the 90 minutes just about up, we decided to leg it back to the car and get a quick getaway. Switched on the radio to find that Torquay had equalised only for Mansfield to bag a late winner in a 3-2 victory. Never left a match early since even when we've been losing 5-0.

Donny v Dagenham play off final 2002 at Stoke, lived in Upton at the time and a fair view Donny fans live their, they won 2- 1 i think, Donny took quite a few thousand down tbf, and were given most of the ground, Dagenham about 2 k at most

I wasn't there (which doesn't follow thread rules) but here goes.

In '89 as a 16 year old my Dad worked for the Sheffield Star/Green Un and as such got 2 free tickets for the semi final at Hillsborough. They were in the Liverpool end. I was going to go with a friend from school. But we dipped at the last minute as Barnsley were playing at home the same day.

As a 5'5' (at the time) shortar5e and not really been able to go out on the booze I know we'd have got in early and stood behind the goal.

That afternoon as things unfolded my mum was at home taking multiple phone calls from family who thought I was there. Remember stood in our usual spot on the West Stand with my school mates just hearing the 'radio brigade' stood around us as they did every match telling of the unfolding disaster.

    Makes you wonder .............

I was at school in Scotland in 1954, and the school organised a trip to Hampdon Park to watch the great Hungarian team with Puskas play. The weather was exceedingly cold, and bales of hay surrounded the pitch. These had been used to keep the ground from freezing in the days before heated pitches. Scotland lost 4-2, which the Scots were pleased with considering England had been hammered 5-1 earlier in the year. It was a great pleasure to me that England beat Scotland 7-2 in a match in April 1955.

I'd love to see a game in South America.
The plan is to visit the sister in law who lives in Colombia next year so hoping to see Deportivo Pereira play as a minimum.

Went to Atleti vs Real at the Calderon in 2014 when Atleti won la Liga. The place was rammed full and the atmosphere was immense. It finished a 2-2 draw and the attendance was 54,600 the highest that season for Atleti, amazingly it wasn't all ticket, we got ours the day before from a machine across the road from my sister's flat....

I worked in Sheffield all my working life and naturally most of my colleagues supported one or the other of the Sheffield teams. I didn’t attend this particular game but I do recall that even decades afterwards Unitedites used to visibly wince whenever the Boxing Day massacre came up in conversation :)

I can highly recommend. Great atmosphere and the game ended 3-3.

On the same trip we saw a Rio derby (Botafogo v Fluminense in the Maracana - only a third full and a drab 0-0. One of the worst games I have ever witnessed.

Didn’t get to Columbia but would love to go.

I was at the England v Scotland game at Wembley when Scotland won 2-1 and the scottish fans invaded the pitch, ripped it up and bent the crossbar.
I was also there when we stuck 5 past them with Alan Rough in goal.
