Rotherham V Swansea in the 1999/2000 season final game of the season and league title decider finished 1-1 Swansea went in front with a late penalty then Rotherham equalised with a penalty in the 90th minute I got thrown out of the Tivoli End. It was the same game where the Swansea fan died when the police horse trampled him City v Spurs twice the season when Crouch scored and Spurs qualified for the Champions League instead of City and the season after when Crouch scored a OG meaning City qualified for the Champions League
The original Liverpool 4 - 3 Newcastle game ,1996, Collymore scoring in injury time, much to the displeasure of the two Geordies sat to the side of me . Wonderful game !
Went to many finals at Old Wembley in the 80s. Whitesides goal springs to mind, as does Whelans. Wimbledon v Scousers when everyone thought it was a foregone conclusion. Everton v Watford, was sat not far from Elton bawling his eyes out. Merseyside final was good. Man U v Brighton was crazy for the total lack of crowd control, was stood in the Man U end and it was absurd the amount of fans trying to get up the gangways. Could have been carnage. Also saw England v Brazil there, final friendly before Italia 90.
I had a ticket for the Man City v QPR match with my mate who’s a season ticket holder at City, in which Agueeeeeeeero scored in the last minute to give them the title. Frustratingly had to give it up due to work, still a bit gutted I didn’t go.
Portugal v Greece 2004 Euros Final. Wife won a competition for 2 nights in Lisbon free food free ale all corporate do in the T-Mobile village before the game. Absolute quality. When she won it England were in the semis. What a let down they couldn't make the final but still a brilliant weekend.
Oct 2019 Hibs vs Livingstone. Hibs scraped a 2-2 draw and this turned out to be Heckingbottoms last match in charge. We didn’t join in with the Hecky Out ! Chants as we were pissed off as you can’t get a beer at half time in the ground. Maybe we would have joined in after a few beers.
Euro 96 England v Scotland England v Spain and the semi England v Germany FA Cup Finals at Wembley Man U V Brighton Spurs v Coventry League Cup Final(Milk Cup) Liverpool v Everton Play off Final Watford v Bolton Championship play off final 1998/99
Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest FA Cup quarter final 1988. Forest won 1-2, with Paul Wilkinson scoring one of their goals. Gary Fleming played for Forest that day too and I think Calvin Plummer was on the bench...
Liverpool v olympiakos 2005 season. Also chelsea and juvr and leverkisen in same season. Hudders v mansfield playoff final 2003 at cardiff.
Been to games at a few big stadiums, played in a few national stadiums too mainly in the Caribbean Islands so not that glamorous! Napoli Nice Lisbon Marseille Rio (Rio derby at the maracana) Athens (olympiakos) the best day out was the Cercle Brugge promotion party in Brugge main square 2018. Cracking day out!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australia_31–0_American_Samoa This one it was completely surreal And David Rocastle playing in Malaysia sone really remember the game though. Went to the African Cup of Nations final in Egypt when Egypt won in 2006. That was mental.
21st March 1984 saw Man Utd beat Barcelona 3-0 in the ECWC Quarter Finals - they had lost the first leg 2-0 and went through 3-2 on aggregate. I shared digs at college with a Man Utd fan who had a spare ticket. Diego Maradona played for Barca but didn't have one of his better games....
Liverpool v FC Bruges European Cup final at Wembley. I was stood directly behind the goal where Dalglish slotted in the winner. That was the highlight of an otherwise dull game.
Crowd can only be guessed at... over 20,000...the city went mad. Not actually a shock result though, in the main India have been more successful but they are at a similar level. I saw a number of great internationnal games whilst in Kathmandu against Timor L'Este, Northern Marianas, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Jordan, N. Korea etc...
