Twitter is full of it this morning.

I’m sure there’ll be a Tory along soon to tell you that we shouldn’t be feeding kids anyway and that private profits are make more sense than feckless single parents swapping vouchers for crack and blowjobs.

Marcus Rashford says the parcels should contain £30 worth of items. The ones they've examined you could have bought for £5!!!!!!!!!!!

To be fair 30 quid a week to feed a child one meal a day is quite luxurious.

However I agree those packages put together are embarrassing.

But why should parents get £30 worth of food per child when schools get a lot less per week for schools meals per child

The children who are entitled to free school meals are eligible for £15 per week. Some schools have provided parents with a £15 voucher they can spend in the supermarket. Others have given hampers. The companies putting them together are taking the piss. I've seen a photo from my kids primary school and the food was worth £5 maximum. It stinks.

It does. The schools are also expected to distribute the parcels to pupils, so I assume the thought was to try and make this easier every other week than weekly.

A Compass Group company at its finest. Profits from Poverty

Conservatives: You can feed a family of 4 on £30 per week if you budget

Also Conservatives: For £30 I can only source half a carrot, one potato and a third of a can of old tuna.

Without getting abusive, I find your lack of empathy abhorrent.

I could offer sensible reasons relating to kids being at home reducing opportunities to search for work (if unemployed) or go out to work (if employed). Generally the jobs for those fortunate enough to be able to work from home pay sufficiently well that their kids don't require state support to be fed. It'd be a waste of time for me to make such suggestions.

And to another poster, £30 a week for breakfast, dinner and tea (+ snacks and supper) really isn't luxurious. £4,50 a day or so, it's about enough but you're not having 15 course taster menus on that.

Seems it's £15 a week, point still stands.

Except it is bad, isn't it? Because I've priced those items up at just over a fiver.

Tory friends making £25 profit per child.

    But Corbyn.

Andy, my shopping bill for the entire week is at the most £25 a week.

    Three meals a day.

£15 to cover 5 meals. Easy.

And ive already stated those hampers are *****.

I just hope that if any of the people in need of this food or vouchers voted for these ********, they take a long hard look at what they are doing before voting next time.

Send them a Morrison's £20 food essentials or get your Tory donating mates company to do it instead for £30. Pictures for comparison. And someone has unpacked some ham and cheese and re-wrapped in clingfilm for this latest *****.
