LUKE THOMAS JOINS IPSWICH TOWN ON LOAN Club News Barnsley Football Club can confirm that Luke Thomas has joined Ipswich Town on loan until the end of the season. Continue reading on the official site...
We must have someone lined up to come in or our bench will look weaker. It's going to be interesting to see who replaces him on the bench tonight.
I think he'll do well for them as long as he gets an extended run on the right wing. Hope he comes back a much improved player.
We currently have Victor, Woodrow, Chaplin, Frieser, Morris & Schmidt fighting for three places. So I can't see anyone else coming in unless we move more out.
I don't think Val rates Schmidt though. So unless Schmidt is the backup just for when Woodrow is injured (therefore the other 4 rotate the 2 wide forward positions) then we're still one option short
I wish Luke all the best. Ipswich aren't a bad team so he will gain valuable experience and playing time
Spot on. I don't think it's an effort thing for Schmidt he just doesn't offer the team what Woodrow does. Unfortunately for him he's competing for Woodrow's place.
I'm not going to bother looking for it but I bet their version of this forum is funny today. "We've signed somebody called Thomas from WHERE?? You are having a laugh aren't you........"
Thomas has struggled to make an impact this season so far, probably a good move for us and him at the minute. But like a few have mentioned, I think we need another option, Miller isn’t good enough yet and Schmidt is struggling to even make an appearance off the bench. We need to try get some more quality in the front three.
Good luck to him. He's always put the effort in, he's just not been too successful. A period out on loan at a good club could give him that confidence to come back better for us. Hopefully mowatt will have had a word
delighted to have signed @IpswichTown . An exciting opportunity for myself to get back enjoying football. Buzzing for Saturday, let’s go! Thank you for all the messages! Sounds like he wasn’t really enjoying his time at Oakwell.
Mowatt was loaned out to L1 Oxford, if anyone cares to remember? Sibbick may end up in the team at some stage & was written off. Not sure if Thomas will make it in the Championship, but he's only 21, he's got time yet.
Hope he does well there and comes back a much better player. Although there is the possibility he won't get much game time at all.
