The money they've spent on some of their individual players is way above what we can afford for the entire squad. For quite long periods we were outplaying this excellent team. Yes, our attack is a bit toothless against this standard of opposition. Yes, we're probably going to lose (but might not). But we're not going to lose against a lot of the teams who are not in the top six.
Agreed, they really don't look very good, not as good as Swansea and they were just OK. Norwich should walk the rest of the season tbh.
I think Watford are better than Swansea - we just dont seem able to beat the sides at the top - though most of them arent any better than us except they just seem to get the breaks
These are bang average. Not sure about excellent. Spending money doesn't mean success. Its been a piss poor game spoilt by an even shitter ref.
losing to a vastly more expensive team on a arguable penalty. lost to Swansea on a flick on that dropped for em and a **** up which actually shudda been offside...yep still losses but not a million miles away from summat good..
How many games this Watford manager been there then, has he made double figures yet? Days gotta be numbered....
I thought they were very well setup, excellent out of possession and had some quality throughout the team. We did well. I’ve not seen how many they’ve conceded this season but I bet it can’t be many.
Awful to watch that game, two or three quality players still needed. Unfortunately I think we're stuck with alot of deadwood.
First half Watford could have been at least 2 up. We were slightly the better team second half, but still toothless & never looked like scoring, other than the near OG. Still, without the silly handball we would have had a point. So near, so, far. There is nothing like a dame. Walk on the Wild Side. Goodnight Irene, Goodnight.
Not sure about excellent, but I'm pretty sure they were sharper, faster, trickier, tougher, more experienced, and generally better than us in every department, including time-wasting (or game management, if you prefer). We did well to hold them to 1-0 and if we hadn't conceded a penalty I'm also pretty sure that Watford would have stepped up a gear and scored anyway. These teams are not in the top six by accident.
The table doesn’t lie. We’re a top-half side currently. We’re not a top 6 side, as we don’t have the quality up front. If we end up mid-table, that’s a great season. And again, we need to build on it from there. We’re not far off being a top-10 side, so we should remain positive. No one has really smashed us, and they’ve been close games.
They weren't an excellent "side" by any means. They did however have certain excellent individuals who caused a fair few problems for us. We were more of a "side", but had no individual liable to do the most important thing - score.
Personally thought Swansea and Watford would be better than we have seen, not too impressed missen like.
