A technically gifted player, good first touch I sincerely wish him the best. He would have done better in the side if we'd had a 'Ratter' in support. By that I mean someone like 'Stumpy' Sheridan. In fact I think the current team would benefit from a 'ratter'. Of the current crop maybe Herbie Kane is the only one that could fill the role.
Up at the end of the season. Mutual termination suits both parties. He's recovered from surgery. I'd imagine he'll go back home. But who knows?
One of our most naturally gifted players since Paddy McCourt. I would love it if he stayed in England and was a success at another club as long as it wasn't one we hate obviously
A player I loved seeing in the team could take a ball down out of the sky like few others I’ve watched. All the best Mike.
I thought he was as naturally gifted as Paul Digby. There aren't many Barnsley greats that have trained with the England squad.
Can only say thank you Mike Steven, helped us get promotion, stayed and didn't cause problems, unfortunate to be injured. All the best to you as always.
I wonder if this means they are gonna go all out to keep mowatt, if not then we would be down to just 4 midfielders. Unless they have targetted a couple more.
I liked him but he was a paradox wrapped in an enigma. He'd bring a ball down on a sixpence and then misplace a 10 yard pass.
Great 1st touch excellent on the ball could pick a pass at times. No pace, couldn't tackle, couldn't shoot and often go missing especially in bigger games in league one. Good luck to him though part of the promotion team one on his better games was when we beat Southend away with 10 men.
Yes. The one that stands out for me was when we ended our long winless run last season against Hull. I thought he was excellent that day. He made the first, scored the second with a really good finish and for me had a very good game overall. I agree that he didn't produce often enough but as others have said, I thought he was technically very good, as German players usually tend to be. It's obviously the right decision to let him go as he wasn't playing but I wish him well in the future and hope he has a successful career. Link to the highlights here:
Link to the highlights here: [/QUOTE] Just watched this a couple of times and it's reminded me of the relief I felt (we all did) ending that run. The hope when we went in front, excitement when we had a 2 goal cushion, nerves after they scored wondering if we could hold on and then the delight when Chaplin scored and everyone knew we'd win. And walking out of the ground with everyone smiling, full of the joy of winning for the first time in ages.
