Middlesbrough at home last season, my last game. 22/02/2020. Barring a visit to Athersley Rec at the start of this season. Honestly, there's fans of Premier league clubs, who just watch matches on Sky. I don't know how they do it, because it really isn't the same as being there. All I want to do is get up Saturday morning, quick browse of the fixtures whilst I'm having a poo to pick out my bet for the day, full English, train to Barnsley, couple of hours in Retrodome, few cheeky pints in Bramah's/arcade alehouse/00 bar etc, swift one in the fan zone or the back of the Ponte, 90 minutes of pure frustration, another quick hour at Retrodome, train home, kebab/pizza, some **** Saturday night TV, bed! Is that too much to ask for?
It's one of the things I miss the most and gets me down, the routine of a match day and the feeling of being in Oakwell. Edit: I'd written a whole reminiscence but don't want to make anyone sad
We had tickets for Fortuna Dusseldorf v Schalke and v Hoffenheim 2 weeks later. The Schalke tickets were like gold dust and it was going to be the yearly meet up (p155 up) of the UK Fortuna fan club...the tickets are still in the drawer unused . God knows when we will get back over...don't think our lass will be able to go again with her health as it is. 2019 meet up before Dortmund away...happy days !
