his brain does not work fast enough for championship, times he had chance to slip players in and just kept, or chose wrong pass
hope he doesn't get killed by a giant chicken while he is down there, he is bound to go in when he hears the clucking
As ripostes go that isn’t the best. Tried his best to get his side in over VI’s - yet contradicted himself by saying he wanted to play, but also that he’d been playing (well, involved) here - then essentially admitted he’s kicked up a bit of a stink to force through a loan move. I think what VI said may have been unwise and that he ought to have said little or nothing, but it doesn’t appear to be untrue or unfair on the face of it. You can’t imagine him coming back to Oakwell, at least whilst VI is still manager anyway.
I find it hard to understand why a young player under contract, getting minutes on the pitch and figuring week in week out in the first team squad, pushing for a start would then instigate his own move out to a lower league to play games. Seems like he doesn't value his own contribution to our team. Clearly it's all about his own perception of where he is at. For us it's about having a competitive squad, developing young players and staying in the championship. I cant see him coming back to be honest. He seems to have made it clear its about him, to which im sure Val will put the current squad first.
I don't see anything malicious or rude in that interview. He obviously thinks he's a decent player that's all. Whether he really is or not is the real question. Humble pie is totally edible if it eventually gets served up to anyone. Whether there will be any on the table at Oakwell remains to be seen.
I can’t fault Luke one bit. Val came out with unnecessary public criticism IMO. He has every right to reply to that. Barnsley fans have a bit of a tendency to turn on ex-players when they leave.
Couldn’t have put that better myself, agree completely. I think there’s potential with the lad but he doesn’t deserve to be starting games for us right now. Who knows, bridges could be built when/if he returns in the summer through hard work and performances. Right now though I can only see a move away.
Can't see him back at Oakwell anytime soon he never looked like a Championship player cut our losses and move on
You can only play 11 .. I think VI wanted him to stay and fight for his place. But said no. I think that's what he meant..
He sounds reasonable enough. Very young though. In all honesty he's likely to outlast Val the rate we've been getting though managers recently.
"I wasn't being unprofessional I was doing what's best for ME! FOR ME! This is the best thing for ME!" Thus confirming exactly what Ismael accused him of. If you were being professional Luke, you'd be doing the best thing for your employer. Give 'em enough rope.
Any answering back by a professional of any kind should be with performances etc. Bye Luke been nice while it lasted but at this moment in time if you’ve given your best it hasn’t been good enough . Hope you have a good career in your future roles no hard feelings .
