I listened to some of the 2nd tier podcast on my drive home from work. A Cardiff fan described Neil Harris' team as tactically inept, workshy, low on confidence and lacking of any strength in depth. Of course, Mick McCarthy is now in the hot seat, however I'm not sure how much effect he can have in such a short space of time. They've lost 6 consecutive games in all competitions, 5 of which by a 1 goal margin. They've only won 2 of their last 9 away game's too, losing the last 3. Oakwell is something of a happy hunting ground for Cardiff though. They have lost just once in their last 11 visits to Oakwell, with the reds last win at home to Cardiff coming just over 10 years ago (a late Carl Dickinson free kick being the decider). I'm fairly confident that we can bounce back. We've been playing well, I'm going for a 2-0 reds win, with Morris and Woodrow on the scoresheet.
Well i reckon he has watched plenty of our games this season. It couldn't have come at a worse time. I think valerian will end up with a rare draw, or they knick it. 1-1 or 1-2 Mick is no mug
They'll come to park the bus and we'll pummel them only to lose to their only shot on target either that or we'll thump them 5-0 with a big Vic hat trick and brace from Miller. Remember you didn't hear it here
Valerien does Thanks for that mate. I remember the goal but forgot it was the last time we beat Cardiff at home. November 2009, too long isn't it? We must try and correct that stat Wednesday evening hopefully. Co-incidentally, that Carl Dickinson goal was the last time we scored an injury time winner at Oakwell in front of the Ponty end, until Patrick Schmidt's goal against Forest last July. We did that again in 2020 when Michal Helik scored against Huddersfield on Boxing Day
Our main weakness is that we can't shoot so to exploit that Mick doesn't really have to do anything! Difficult score to predict. Cardiff are no Swansea but may get a bounce from the new manager. Barnsley are pressing well without really scoring but now have Morris bedding in. I'm going for a 2-1 Barnsley win on balance of things.
If you'd asked me to predict the score before the season started, I'd have gone 0-1 without hesitation. Even now, I can't see any other outcome. If we were 20 points clear at the top of the table and Cardiff were already relegated I'd still go for 0-1. I hate playing Cardiff.
I cannot remember a run of games as long as this without a draw , therefore by the law of averages I am going for a 0 v 0 or 1 v 1 score
Time has moved on. I think Mick will realise how much Moore has developed and besides he's only there for 6 months, he's a pragmatist and will work with what he has.
