Agree 100%. It’s pace we lack in front 3. A good wide forward of the Gordon Owen ilk is what we need. For those of a certain age.....
I said at the start of the season i would love a season where with 5 or so games left we have no threat of relegation because being beaten most weeks and scrapping around the bottom 3 ( even with the Brentford away match last season) is pretty dire
I agree, at the start of the season I would have snatched your hand off if it was offering mid-table obscurity and a comfortable even exciting season. However now we are there I dont just want to stop and settle, I want us to push on and be ambitious. Carry on at full pace and fight for every point. In fact anything less is unacceptable. We all pay our money to the club in one form or another and I expect good value for my hard earned cash, none of this settling rubbish.....we fight until the last match. You say that we cant moan at what we have achieved but I think we can if having achieved it we just settle.
The most important business is keeping the players we have. The next important thing is offloading as much of the remaining deadwood, and if the only thing we can manage is offsetting some of their wages and sending them out on loan, then so be it, it's better than them being on full rate and unlikely to kick a ball in anger. Incomings, I don't see any great value at this point bringing in loans or players on fees in the current climate. Prudence should be the watchword.
