Got my letter today and went on line to book. As I once had an anaphylactic shock reaction to taking a strong penicillin many year ago I was a bit apprehensive. The letter says that I can discuss this at the time of booking or with a health professional when i go for the jab. Well they are wrong about the first bit so I look like waiting till I get there. I will be a bit pissed off if when I get to the centre they refuse to give it me. Got to travel from Barnsley to Wakey for this. Had to have 2 goes at the booking because you have to book both jabs together and when i got to the end one of the slots was no longer available and it doesn't tell you which one so you have to do it all over again.
Can’t understand a system wanting over 70s or older or ever others who do not have computer skills to have to book on line. Surely a letter or telephone call would be better.
Who exactly makes these decisions? My mate’s father 75 got his jag on Monday. He was called from his doctors surgery and asked to go at a certain time. Got his jag and given a follow up appointment for exactly 6 or 8 weeks later. I can’t remember which it was.
The only thing I know is that Alec got a phone call from the doctor surgery and was asked to attend at a certain time. Maybe a letter might be sent out if a phone call failed to give a result
I too am allergic to penicillin, but never experienced a anaphylactic reaction to it. I had the Pfizer jab just before Christmas , no reaction, still waiting on the second dose.
I am also allergic to penicillin but I look forward to which ever vaccine they give me , bring it on .
OY! We can still work a keyboard without slavering on it tha knows I got a letter from the NHS a couple of weeks ago giving me a choice of online or telephone booking. Then two days after I'd had my jab, at Wakefield Morrisons but I don't think it was their own label vaccine, I got a text from my doctor offering me a jab!
I booked my Dad in this week. Nearest one is near the Ruddy Duck in Wakefield or the Sheffield Arena in this direction. OR Holmfirth / Huddersfield / Leeds if he fancied it. I understood, wrongly, that he's be able to go somewhere in Barnsley.
I can only comment on my own experience , I'm under 50 if you feel it relevant. Nothing but a positive experience for me.
My wife suffered a reaction after a minor operation and they wouldn't give her the Pfizer one, she is waiting now for the Oxford one
