    I once had a slash in the centre circle at St James Park.

    The nearby Strawberry pub used to be a cool boozer thirty years ago, with a Manx-in-the-90s vibe but the brewery decided to rip it out and make it a formulaic pseudo-traditional gastro place. On the last night the outgoing landlord stayed open giving free ale to the regulars until the pumps ran dry. Then he told us all the furniture was going in a skip the next morning and take what you like. So we took loads and built a makeshift scaffold to scale the wall behind the old Gallowgate end while somebody ran back to halls to grab a football. I didn't have to climb it and tackle the glass-topped wall, thankfully, as the exit gates were only secured by big bolts so the first man in opened the gates and let the rest of us in. I was relieving myself in the centre circle when men with torches and dogs came out from somewhere and a shout went up of "LEG IT!". I guess they knew it was just kids messing and didn't want the hassle of apprehending us, as they kept the dogs on their leads and just chased us off into the night.
