OK, to add some positivity, it's 43 years for me in August and we won 4-2 against Halifax with Brian Joicey scoring a hat-trick! Yaay, aren't I the lucky one?
Ah, Good Friday games... I remember us on Sky when we beat West Brom en route to the Prem.... great game. 2016 bore draw against Scunny... not so good
65 ish when I started going not a clue who we played or what score was , all I can remember is my toes were dropping off , Chesterfield away seems to ring a bell in my memory chamber but with the confusion lobby that resides in there it’s anybody’s guess and never asked mi dad when I had the chances .
I think I first went when I was around 8, which would make it 60 years ago. We were playing Dony and all I can remember was standing on the Kop with my Dad and getting lumps of shale chucked at us from the Dony fans to our right down by the corner of the Brewery Stand. All the top of the Kop was just a mound of shale, there were some concrete steps near the bottom I think, but only so far up. No segregation in those days of course., we walked around under the Brewery stand at half time to the Ponty End.
38 for me lost 1-0 v QPR , was supposed to be only going to ONE game (worked at the time with a few Reds fan's) and i got hooked from the start. Love going to Oakwell AND Grove Street ever since ( well some weeks lol).
My first visit February 13 2010 Barnsley 1 Plymouth 3 on a miserable wet day. But glad it didn’t put me off
