In his defence he hasn't played a lot of football this season, appearing in less than ten games. Not sure he's likely to be making the final Euro's squad without a three month run of playing well. We're blessed with attacking midfield options but sadly less so with the Henderson/Rice type midfielder. I mean Phillips has been playing for England and I'm not sure he's anywhere near good enough.
Him and Dier should be nowhere near. Winks is alright on the ball when on form, but overall, so many better options.

Winks was first choice under Pochettino when they were regularly in the top 4 & reached a champions league final, he’s a talented lad. For whatever reason Mourinho doesn’t fancy him but he’s picked up caps in an era where apart from Henderson we don’t have any quality proven central midfielders. If he had the same level of talent but was a right back, a striker, or a wide forward / number 10 he probably wouldn’t have any caps. That’s just luck. There’s always been weaker players picking caps up in positions we’re short in. I remember Trevor Sinclair playing in the 2002 World Cup for example
