I didn’t see or hear the game but just read the sky report and these comments stand out, were we rough houses or is the reporting Brentford bias? “Barnsley drag their in-form hosts into a series of physical battles.” “they were restricted to half-chances by a side intent on disrupting the hosts' rhythm.” “but referee David Coote - who offered the Bees top scorer little protection all afternoon - waved away the protests.”
Nah, they just didn't like it up them! Helik and Anderson both had knocks but I bet that didn't get a mention!
I read the report and it reads not impartial and I wondered whether it was just unprofessional, or if it was a genuine reflection of the match.
No, the Sky reporter just read the worst bits from the Brentford forum and based his report on that, until he ran out of crayons
Totally biased. Toney got frustrated and started kicking, elbowing and diving. Great to see our back 3 nullify his threat. He didn't like it and spat his dummy. As did their manager and coaching staff. Poor losers, sour grapes.
The Sky studios in West London are just a couple of miles from Brentford. Bloke who wrote that is probably a Bees fan
Hilarious, he could have been booked at least 3 or 4 times. No idea how he escaped it when he went in on Palmer after the whistle had gone in the first half - it would have been a bad challenge if it were made during play, the fact the whistle had already gone made it absolutely clear that it wasn't an attempt to play the ball.
For me, Barnsley played much better football both with and without the ball. We worked harder and kept our cool when confronted by so much cheating and gamesmanship from Brentford.
I would love to sit down with this so called football journalist and run through that game and ask him (or her) how he could come to that opinion! Minute by minute stop starting the recording to fully analyse their points. Totally biased opinion written by a Brentford fan and a sore loser (like their entire club).
This is a totally biased report. We were the better side. Brentford got increasingly mardy as they failed to make any impression. Toney should have had a yellow for kicking Collins so should have been sent off for the foul on Helik near the end. As for the ref, he as is the way with his colleagues failed to give us anything. Some of his decisions were bizarre.
It did read a very odd article to be honest, you don’t generally get comments like that in an impartial mainstream media article, I’ve been decorating all day so just jumped in sky to watch the highlights and read the report
Whatever they say we took the points. We didn’t play the game they wanted us to play. Teams have done that in their previous 21 matches and they haven’t lost any of them. We made them play our game and we were better than them at that. Whinge as they might anybody watching that game has a good idea how to beat Brentford. Not every team can do it though, and by the way, we’re coming for them as well.
I'm sure there's a song in that somewhere. Well, we have stolen their place in the championship so might as well nick the song now.
