Big Val says we are going to continue to do it. Good. As long as the racists keep being irritated by it, it should be continued. It gives them the message they are not wanted at football grounds. Perhaps they should stop coming to football.
Just seen a photo of the start with all the Barnsley players taking the knee with the referee felt really proud of the lads especially when the Brentford players are stood there like chocolate bobbys.
S**t stirring jouralism, Brentford players didn,t refuse to take the knee, they chose not to, there is a difference, "refusing to" makes it appear that they were asked to, every player has the right to either take the knee or not take the knee without the fear of having a label attached to them...
Yes as i,ve said in my post, its their right to choose to take the knee or not to take the knee, by the journalist writing that "they refused" she,s trying to put a sinister spin on it...
You're right, you did. I apologise if my comments came across as argumentative towards you, that certainly wasn't my intention.
One thing about Brentford that's not been mentioned is that Ivan Toney has very recently received racist abuse because he holds his fist in the air during taking a knee. Very quickly after that happened Brentford stated they would no longer do it and said it's because players have decided they can't be arsed anymore. Could it actually be that it's to protect players like Toney from racist abuse?
The post said racists are not welcome. Eaststand Lower said they’d better give their season ticket up then.
I’d just like to point out Eaststand Lower doesn’t represent everyone who sits in the East Stand Lower
Wilfried Zaha says it is "degrading" to have to take a knee before every game and is fed up of being used to "tick boxes" without change happening. The Crystal Palace star, who has been the target of online racial abuse a number of times - including from a 12-year-old boy last year - says he is tired of having to kneel in order to show black people matter as much as anyone else. Zaha, 28, also hit out at firms who are keen to have him speak on the issue without enacting any meaningful change. Interesting article in full. I’m personally not in favour of one over the other (taking the knee.). Each to their own. I do think it’s run it’s course. But won’t criticise those that choose to do it still. Zaha says it how he feels. Who are we to argue.
