Why are Barnsley better than us (Owlstalk)

Wednesday, Derby, Birmingham. Three of the biggest financial cheats in British football. Have collectively thrown hundreds of millions of pounds they didn't have at achieving.....being below us in the league.
Well done.

 

After reading some of the comments on there I now know where the saying you can't educate pork comes from.

Yeah, that's right. I didn't want to put that, seeing as they don't have a pot to p*ss in and can't pay their players

I like it when lanzaroteowl says "there not we will have more points than them at end of season" obviously got sun stroke.

 

When they get their next win, a few on there will be predicting they'll frighten the whole division and cruise into the play offs...perhaps even get an automatic spot.

Interesting read and some good posters talking sense in amongst the usual nonsense. Sheff Wed are of course a bigger club than us and if run correctly it would be very difficult for us to compete with them on the pitch.
With all the money thrown around in this league we are massively over achieving and they are under achieving. Its nice that the more sensible Wednesday fans recognise this.

 

A good few of them are transfixed on Wigan and why we are in this division.

Don't they even now get that if you break the rules then you should get punished?!?

Bet they'd be revelling and shouting from the rooftops if a Birmingham-Derby got a 9 point deduction.

But on a side note I was overall slightly suprised by the knowledgeable ones.

 

Out of the five sides we have played twice, four are in the top seven. We don't play Norwich until the last day of the season. That suggests that until then we have games mostly against sides we are well capable of beating. That may well be over simplifying given the competitive nature of the championship, but on paper at least that sounds very encouraging.
At the bottom, I think Wycombe have pretty much gone, although they will pull off a few wins before the end of the season. It's not looking good for Brum at the moment, so I can see them going. That leaves one more space for the relegation. At this time, it looks like that space will be taken by any one of Derby, Coventry, Hudders, Rotherham, or Wednesday.
Personally I hope it's the latter mentioned team - some of their supporters need a dose of self realism.

 

Some weird comparisons. On present games since Pulis got sacked Wednesday have taken more points than us.
Nowt to do with who the opponents were. Good result against Bournemouth. 6th. But otherwise.?

This thread is ironically a bit Wednesday itself. We've earned 5 more points than them this season, but from reading this thread you'd think we're the 1970 Brazil team and they're Derby under Paul Jewell.
