It's rather early to come to an assessment on either Morris or Dike. I know we're fans thereore players are often quickly tagged as either Messi or Ferry, but we have to give them a bit of time.
We need him to notch a goal for his own confidence. I'm pretty sure this lad could walk into any championship team.
I thought he looked like he’s starting to acclimatise to championship football. Did well, some nice lay offs and clever play. Won a lot of duals, including an important flick on for the second. would be keen to sign him based on what I’ve seen so far, it’s just that he’s no quite worth £20million......
I had my doubts about his ability to deal with championship defenders rough housing but initial showing he looks up to the task. Then again he doesn’t look like your typical US player we see!
The jurys out for me. It's still very very early days. He'd be my 5th choice of the 6 at the moment. But I'd expect him to learn over the coming months.
I said in the other thread. My thoughts after his few minutes against Chelsea were not very complimentary... I was wrong. The last two games, he’s grown in both ability and pace. He looks like he could be a great signing! His strength and touch look good. He just needs that goal.
Don't think we unearthed him to be fair. His potential was fairly well known with a lot of clubs tracking him. We were just quickest on the draw when he made his international debut, which opened the door to get international clearance. That's what was impressive on our part for me There'll be a lot in for him this summer I reckon.
Sounds like we have right of first refusal though with a pre-arranged fee which is impressive to have got in there. Especially if like Dane said it’s not a ridiculous one.
Its almost as if we should give players more time when they go up a standard in league in a different country, and play high pressing football surrounded by completely new players. Were you one of the ones who slated him after first appearance? People proper went in on him, especially on Twitter. Fair does for taking critism back, but surely you realise its just stupid forming such an opinion on a tiny amount of debut football played?
Media in US seem sure that the fee is still 20m “Either way, (the loan is) going to expire at the end of the season in May,” Poe said. “Not a super long time over there. The price tag at the end of the option to buy is $20 million and that's only for 80% of his rights, so Orlando City would still hold onto 20 percent and they'd get to cash in 20 percent of whatever future sale occurred. It's a really, really high price tag.”
Dane outright said that the fees quoted in the media were ridiculous and it was in line with what we’ve paid for players recently.
Who do you think knows more about the deal? Dane Murphy or a journalist? It’s all just rehashes of the same story and if the initial information was incorrect that led to the first story they’re all going to be wrong. Doesn’t matter when it was published.
