NOPE! I despise the little bástárd. Lose to Altrincham, lose eight League One games in a row, hang onto your job because our late owner refused to sack a family man with Christmas just around the corner. (The dwarf cúnt should have been jobless after we deservedly lost to the worst team in the Conference.) He owed us, and Patrick Cryne, loyalty. Well, not us, but Cryne. He turned our form around - fair play to him for that - and as soon as Bristol City came in for him, he couldn't get out of here fast enough. Appalling manager, and a snake. We'd not have got promoted in 2016 had he stayed here, because he just can't help tinkering with things when the team is on a good run. If you've not seen this for yourselves yet, you soon will. Have you got a decent striker? He'll be up the wing before long. Do you have a central midfielder who's at least good enough for a play-off team in the Championship? Johnson will destroy his confidence, squeaking: "I don't fink 'e can play in a two!" Have you got a left-back who's miles and miles out of his depth? Expect The Dwarf Snake to keep selecting him, until his career is ruined. Good luck - you'll need it!
Oops, I don't want to open any old wounds We used to have some legendary discussions about Craig Gordon, some people though he was hopeless and others thought he was world class! How does Ismaël compare to Stendel? I'd never heard of him but he is doing well, seems to have a great presence on the touchline.
It certainly worked for us! Looking back on it, it was ridiculous how confident I was that we'd beat Millwall and go up the season we won the JPT. I don't think the possibility of us losing ever really occurred to me. It sounds stupid, and really is with hindsight, but that was some season.
Because he got ten points from 12, four out of 39, 13 from 15, none from 18. (Numbers are illustrative, but you get the point!)
Ismael compares to Stendel in that they are both well liked by the fans and both got us winning games. The difference is that Ismael is doing it in the Championship plus getting all the players playing his way. He's also taken players that we (as fans) had written us as no good for the Championship and given them the self belief to make the step up
Cheers for the heads up, there's no better way to get the inside track on a manager than from supporters of his previous club. I think the jury is out on him, league position wise we are really no better off than from when we sacked Parkinson. I can see how he got the job though as he is quite a good talker and uses lots of technical jargon, I could see how an owner would be impressed with that. He chat sounds great when we win but not so when we lose and he has already been called 'clatter gob' which still makes me laugh.
That's what I read about him in that his teams win and lose in streaks which is very unusual, obviously his cv will have all the winning streaks highlighted.
A sign of a good manager that, improving players that were low on confidence and turning them around and into better players. I was reading the 60 - 30 thread before, does he always change a few players on 60 minutes?
Not always, depends how the game is panning out. It does seem to be more prevalent recently though, as if he's pre-determined it will happen.
The way you pressed Chelsea I can see how it would be useful to get fresh legs on to continue that level of work rate.
