I didn't know that mate. Anyway, I'm 65 next month so I'll be getting the discount on match tickets the next time I go to Oakwell.....
Given we knew, when buying the tickets, there was a very high chance that we wouldn't get to any of the games this season i think that anyone asking for their money back should be banned for life.
I think the situation was made clear but most of us had hoped of seeing some live games surely! I'm not going to criticise anyone who feels they've not had value for money but I'm not going to.ask for a refund.
I don't understand their reasoning, personally. "We showed commitment and support to the club by paying for a season ticket, so we should now gwt a refund for not being able to attend". If you get your money you spent back, there isn't any commitment or support, as the money will be coming out of the following season's budget...
Well I’ve had superb value for money this season. Only £150 for the season and watching every match in comfort and no travel expenses. Obviously I’ll go back to the old way when we are able to but I’ve no complaints about this season. The football has been very good as well!
They were valid for 2 years so I'm hoping they'll extend them by a year. ( think they'll have to if we get into the Premier league).
Quite happy to pay money to see a young manager and a young team having a crack at the division and upsetting some of the bigger boys in the process. Obviously would have loved to have been in the stadium but as others have said, that isn’t the club’s fault.
Club have done an amazing job under the circumstances. If you are struggling due to the lockdown I certainly wouldn’t begrudge anyone asking for a refund, but I think the club needs us to support it as much as possible if we can.
I am approaching 69 & I got my season ticket reduced at the age of 60, it was explained to me that because I was already an existing season ticket holder then I would get the discounted price , if I wasn"t an existing season ticket holder then I would have to pay full whack , I believe this still exists but I could be wrong
Exactly as I see it Helen. I’m more upset that we’ve not been able to see ‘in person’ some of the best football at Oakwell since the Hourihane/Winnall team was broken up. Absolutely nothing the club can do about that though.
Understand that everyone's personal situation is very different right now, but I don't think the refund route is one anyone should be going down really. However to caveat that. It does seem harsh/unfortunate that any households with multiple season tickets have all paid more than me to sit in front of the TV all season. Not sure what the solution is there, but if a household invested c. £500 in season tickets it would be nice if something could be done for them next season.
As long as you have remained a ST holder (without breaks) from the time the rule changed from 60 to 65 (about 10 years ago?), then you can get concession price at 60 if you speak to Beth.
No chance of me asking for a refund Those winter matches when its banging it down and 3 degrees are much better from home with a dram of whisky. That moneys long gone anyway
I agree, I just ment I wouldn't immediately judge anyone who asked without knowing the circumstances.
Whilst my full sympathies lie with anyone who has struggled financially during this pandemic, expecting a refund from BFC when it was made clear what the terms were is unfair. You wouldn't go to Currys requesting a discount off your six month old TV or money off Ford for your new car, so not sure why the club should pick up the tab either. A service was advertised and has been so far delivered. I agree with Loko though that it would be nice for people in multiple households using one stream code be rewarded in some way next season.
