A lot of wickets have fallen to straight deliveries

Not doubling down at all. He's a poor cricketer and wouldn't get the all rounder slot in most eras of English cricket. You're entitled to your opinion, however divergent it is from mine.

One thing we are world class at is wasting a review.

As intriguing as this is, I prefer the longer format of the game, like T20

I just can't believe we bust a gut to get back in the game only to bat like a bunch of lovely people again.

It’s a difficult pitch that’s ragging but most of the wickets have been from straight balls. Play for no spin and if it spins it will likely go past the edge, and if you nick it then fair play to the bowler.

    Need at least 200 here.

These two need to stay in for a good while too.

Root looks happy, it's whether Stokes attacks the right shots that'll be crucial.

Shameful batting again from the top order. Sending JB home and then bringing him back is a crazy decision. Class player but so far out of nick he would struggle to get a game at Shaw Lane

He should have been out 4 times already. He's a flat track slogger, once in a while it comes off. He bowls half trackers to try and bully lower order batsmen, but he is a good fielder generally.

Our modern era of cricket is exceptionally poor at test level, and once Anderson and Broad retire, it will be all the poorer still.

I respect your opinion you think Stokes merits a place in history as a good cricketer. Please respect that I disagree.

This has to be not out. You can see the ball bounce away from the bat.

what a strange response, we are pushing hard for a place in the test championship. We might not be currently the best ever but individually some of our players clearly are.

of course i "respect your opinion" but its exactly that, the stats prove otherwise. never mind, enjoy watching him slog.
