According to Colour Sergeant Bourne in an interview in later years the Zulu's had evacuated their wounded during the night leaving around 350 dead on the battlefield.
Although having read a bit more that conflicts with Smith-Dorrien's account.

Zulu is one of those films that if I stumble across it I end up watching it all the way to the end. The Supertechnirama film it was shot in is also fabulous quality, watch it in HD now and it’s stunning.

Sad about Ronald Pickup, I was watching ‘The 39 Steps’ the other day and he played one of the German henchmen - I seem to remember he used to read occasionally on ‘Jackanory’ too in (probably) early 80’s, am I right?
