At Championship level? I’ve had a Google search and think it’s 96/97 but the BBS is always the fountain of all stats when it comes to Barnsley FC.
2017 according to this thread. Edit: Meant to say 2015. http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/five-consecutive-wins-and-clean-sheets.224787/
Great find! That was League One though under Johnson. I think the last time we did five wins in a row in the Champ was the promotion season?
I can distinctly remember winning 6 in a row under Flitcroft, but, I think there may have been a cup game or two among them. Not that it mattered at the time after the season we'd endured up to the point! Edit: yep, cup games at Hull and MK Dons - Hull were top of the championship at the time though so we won 5 against championship teams
That's what I thought as well Ponte. Attended all five. After the win at Maine Road, I said to my mate who was with me, that we were definitely onto something special. It was after the game at Bramall Lane at Christmas though , I began to truly believe we could go up. https://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/spo...ews/barnsley-callum-styles-stoke-goal-5045066
Yes, same for me after Bramall Lane. Me and my mate went on the train from Swinton to avoid having to park. On the way back the train was packed with moaning Blunts. Every sentence seemed to start with "Duz dar know.." and continued along the lines of "dat Barnsleh, der rubbish." We just sat there as impassive as Confucius but wrecking ourselves inside. We were top that day, and that's when I knew we would go up.
It's definitely the first 5 games of the 96/97 season. I'd already posted this on another thread for scores prediction
hope you were punching the air in your sand pit, just edited it,might have been too cold for the sandpit,
QPR. QPR. They did the treble over us when we got promoted to the PL. Home, Away and FA Cup. BUT we still got promoted.....
As soon as you said 'not jinxing anything', you jinxed it. Nailed on defeat and I, for one, know exactly who I'm going to blame. I might even sue.
Remember winning first five league games under Clarke, TV cameras showing up for the first time in years & us losing to Torquay. Sorry to put a downer on things, but it all ended well!
Millwall are in great form, unbeaten in 9 and always tough to play against. If we make it 5 wins on the spin today I think I might actually start to believe we can go up
