The thing is though, we used to get bullied by Millwall, Cardiff, Birmingham and the rest of the shitehawks. We used to be little passing triangles, then they'd score from a set piece or some other horrible way. We'd then have a load of possession without threatening. It's brilliant that it's the other way round. So balls to them.
It needn't have been that way. They could have chosen to try and pass it out from the back and been pressed to death. Only themselves to blame
Our record against Millwall recently is great. I think it’s getting to them and they’re just a bit bitter now.
We have become much more solid and fit compared to traditional Barnsley sides. It's really upsetting the sides like Millwall that are used to bullying us out of games. Try to bully this side and you'll almost certainly lose. Virtually every side we play end up resorting to long hopeful balls hoping get a quick player through on goal. It occasionally works for 1 goal but otherwise leads to 1 dimensional, predictable play. Wimbledon were known for controlling the way sides played against them. In that way we're definitely comparable to them. I for one see that as a compliment.
It’s natural that other fans will be annoyed about our shithousing stopping their Cruyff turns and Socrates-esque free kicks. No club screams total football like Millwall. The only disappointing thing about today is that Rowett is crying rather than the execrable Neil Harris.
Perhaps Miwwo's violent, racist fanbase should take the knee in a gesture of submissiveness to the hoof-it, anti-football which undid their shítty team. #BloodyLovelyMichał
To be honest, it’s pretty accurate to describe us like that. Maybe not quite Wimbledon but not far off. I’m not complaining, especially when winning against the teams we had a habit of losing against but I’d like to see the style progress with time to include some better football.
