So it's limited to 4,000 (or 50% whichever is lower) unless you get special provision. That still sounds like 4,000 to me unless Barnsley home games are subject to special provision, which makes me wonder which events that could attract such crowds won't be subject to special provision if ours are. Which, in turn, doesn't make it sound that special. Even if we get the special provision, it's 25% capacity, which is significantly lower (about 50% lower) than the number of Barnsley fans who routinely turn up to Championship games.

I don't think Sheffield Wednesday have got any chance of the play offs

I don't understand the special provision thing either but I find it quite interesting that unless I'm blind it doesn't mention the over or under 40,000 seats thing anywhere which all the articles originally mentioned.

The idea of going back into lockdown next winter is interesting because bozo was quite clear that none of the restriction relaxations were reversible. Would he be breaking any law or code of conduct if he did reverse them for the winter?

He's full of hot air as he's proved many times. The virus is endemic, like cold and flu. It will return next winter. The extent to which it returns, no one yet knows, but it will. And if the numbers are high enough there will be restrictions because that's what this government do with a lot of support from the populace. It will return every year. We will learn to live with it. Spanish flu is still around, as are the viruses of the other pandemics of the 20th century. But many people who are currently telling you there won't be a lockdown will be the ones who are clamouring for one as the numbers begin to spike again next winter. What Boris says is neither here nor there.

    “Spanish flu is still around“
Well yes in that it’s been extracted and sequenced from bodies buried in permafrost, but no it’s not in circulation.
What other pandemics do you refer to?
Be a shame to hijack great news on pricing with a yes / no debate on Covid.

The other pandemics were Hong Kong flu and Asian flu, we're nothing if not xenophobic, and there are still active variants of the viruses today.

There won’t be more than 5,000 in 20,000 seater stadiums until about 2024 I reckon. They will restrict stuff until the very, very last second they can.

I will be happy to renew even if I can't attend due to crowd restrictions.
As a senior I'd be happy to let my "space" go to another person IF the current Ifollow home game deal continued.
It works both ways for me and for the other person. I'm happy to watch from home, someone else can attend at Grove Street in my absence.
    Win win.
That's always assuming the Ifollow deal continues of course.

Bloody rubbish. What kind of football club are we following? They're giving me absolutely nothing to moan about.

    Iley out!

Hey guys, I didn't have a season ticket this season but am hoping to get one here - does anyone know if I can get the early bird option, or is that just for renewals?

Thought at first I could only get one on 31st May, but I went through the store and it looks like I can add them to my basket

The way I read it is that anyone buying before 30th April gets the cheaper price. See what happens when you get to the checkout price wise.

I’m assuming the early bird is for non-renewals, otherwise there would be no point having the separate early bird price.

    Excellent news.
I've been a critic of the owners in the past, so it's only right and proper to give out praise. Especially when it's as well deserved as this.
We'll all get to see Andy 'Speilberg' White in action again, too!:D

You're right mate. Credit where it's due. They said they'd try and look after us after the magnificent response to season ticket's during the lockdown last year, and I believe they have with this offer.

    Up the Reds :)

Those who didn`t renew because of covid if allowed in and those who didn`t renew because multiple members of one family were season ticket holders but could watch games all together under one season ticket are being charged more am I right.

Some maybe have broken their continuity of being a season ticket holder for one covid/unprecedented year but lose out on O.A.P. ticket at 60 rather than 65 in the future. I think this personally needs addressing by the club.

If anyone wants to discuss their situation feel free to contact the club - memberships@barnsleyfc.co.uk - and the club will endeavour to make things as easy as possible for all supporters. Also, there will be further information in the coming days/weeks putting more meat on the bones of yesterday's initial launch.
