Of the current top 8 how many times do they play each other All have 12 games apart from Swansea 14, Barnsley 13 and Bournemouth still in FA cup. 5 times Watford, Reading 4 times Norwich, Swansea, Bournemouth, Cardiff 3 times Brentford, Barnsley Does this imply how hard each run ins are ??
Yes, we have pretty much the "easiest" run-in although traditionally we do worse against near the bottom (or it feels like we do). Bournemouth (A), Norwich (H) and Reading (H) still to play On the other hand, we have fewer chances to beat these clubs so have to hope results also go our way.
Think Reading have the toughest of run-ins and could possibly be the team to target in catching and passing. Their 5 games against the top 8 from their final 12 games are against us Watford Cardiff Swansea and Norwich.
The problem is that teams near the bottom keep fighting for their lives & normally end up finishing the season in better form than the sides in mid table & we saw it ourselves last season with us, Luton & Wigan all finishing the season well. So I don’t think there’s particularly any ‘good’ fixture list as it’ll change week by week. Teams still hungry with an outside chance of the play offs could be mentally on the beach for the last 5 games. Norwich on the last day could turn out to be one of our easiest games if they’re already up as champions. The only really good thing is that we don’t have many games against teams around us.
You can see the run-in analysis here Not that much to choose between the top teams. Sheffield Wednesday's should be noted though. Ouch.
If Norwich average 0.81 points from their remaining games and we win all our remaining games then we'd go up as champions when we beat them on the final day assuming no one else gets more points #justSaying
Reading are the team to catch I think. They had a cracking start to the season but haven’t been able to keep it up. The trouble is it looks like Cardiff will make it into the top 6 too, which would probably mean us needing to finish above Bournemouth too. Swansea, Brentford and Watford will have enough to stay in there. Bournemouth away is going to be a huge game.
Exactly. Once you get past Easter, the best games are against those who have drifted out of play off contention, and aren’t in relegation trouble. Not much interest or form in those teams. Hopefully won’t be us!
Readings run in is definitely the most tricky, Cardiff and Bournemouth are the ones to beat for our spot I think
If owt were to happen to Kieffer Moore on the injury front than that would have a huge impact on Cardiff.
