I see the EFL have emailed out a questionaire which is worth filling in for them just to tell them how awful iFollow is and it gives you the chance to give your opinion on other topics such as fans returning to stadiums.
Click link, see "System is currently busy. Please try again later." Where's the survey that lets me give feedback about the survey?
No complaints over iFollow, been a great service for me. There’s got to be a difficulty in separating issues at the customer end , ISP part and iFollow end.
Without putting the kiss of death on it, I've never had any issues with iFollow really. When we were meant to play Derby before, it charged me for the game but they gave me the refund the morning after I emailed so no issues.
For years I've not subscribed to iFollow because of the problems. I've used it at 3 different addresses in the UK and 2 in Germany. Every time the problems were the same - buffering, difficulty logging in, being blocked from using it even though I qualified, taking money from my account despite having cancelled my subscription and my direct debit, and minor issues like missing one of our goals because of a detailed report on a throw-in at Hillsborough. To make sure it wasn't my connection, I've tried loads of other streaming services with no problems. Even iFollow's own highlights videos played perfectly, the problems were only during live matches. Recently I succumbed to temptation and paid to watch the Millwall match on iFollow. It worked to a point, but kept buffering as usual, although I didn't miss anything important. Matt got cut off by adverts a few times, which was annoying. Then on Wednesday I watched the QPR match on Sky Go. Perfect quality with no buffering. Very frustrating. Apart from the result of course. Edit: None of this applies to Matt's commentary. I love it and still get woken up by "Schmidt! Patrick SCHMIDT!!!!" from Millwall when my alarm goes off.
The commentary is the biggest plus. However the picture quality isn't modern, the sound difference on adverts is too loud, commentators get cut off for ad breaks and you don't get much analysis at half time or full time.
I have the sound muted when the match is not in play. Never watch any preamble or post-match analysis. I occasionally see the half-time highlights but that's all. All the analysis and buildup is the biggest fault with Sky and the BBC's coverage in my opinion. Just show the match, it's all we need, we don't get it at Oakwell on match days and I don't want it at home thank you very much. Edit, But then again I am a miserable old git.....
I can guarantee it’s because of Broadband speeds or the speed of your laptop. I’m on 600mbs to 1gb Broadband and a Mac and it’s HD and not one buffer.
My only complaint with it is, on the odd occasion it’s gone tits up, it’s been impossible to get a refund
The only issue I ever have is picture quality and I'm 100% certain it's entirely due to the shocking laptop I have. If I ever use my phone or tablet, it's perfect
I had messed up once and ended up paying without redeeming a code, my mistake entirely, got a refund within a week or so
After a ropey start to the mass home watching, after the restart following the first pandemic shut down, its gradually got better and more consistent. I occasionally get buffer issues but feel sure that is my broadband because it often is not the best. Haven't had any instances of being blocked out since the early days of the restart. If their contract was up for renewal and they got it renewed I'd be ok with that.
At half time I pour some some random brown liquid the temperature of the sun into a flimsy plastic cup and stand round the back of the garage with my ecig, in the cold. Just for authenticity.
Had an issue with first game but been fine since - like Matt and Wayne Goodison as well as commentators. Not sure about the one they get to stand in for Matt sometimes though
