A little snippet today from our mate Alan Nixon. Wilder will be cheaper to sack once relegation is confirmed and his wages drop back to Championship level. Nixon claims Wilder and the board agree it's time for a change in the summer. They haven't got on for months as Wilder wanted to try and stay up by buying in the January transfer market. It goes against the public noise that the board stick by Wilder as the man to get them straight back up as the best man for the job.
Just goes to show you can't begrudge managers moving on whilst at the top of their game, it will only end one way eventually.
I think he has almost been overly relaxed past 3-4 months about their plight. As if he knows they didn't back him with an inevitable outcome.
You only have to look at Norwich & how well they have done by sticking by their manager , Wilder & Sheffield Utd go together & with his experience & the nucleus of this years squad I feel there is no one better to get Utd back up , it would be madness to part company with him
Hope that this happens. I've had this nagging feeling for a little while that Sheff Utd under Wilder in the champ might be one of the only options that might tempt Mowatt to look elsewhere this summer. Hopefully they install someone with completely different ideas and it takes that idea off the table!
Why would they trust Wilder with more funds when he pissed best part of £100m up the wall last summer?
They couldn't rely on a Manure loaner goalkeeper indefinitely. Biggest change imo. Punched above their weight big time when they went up. Th
I think other Premier teams have worked them out this season. Previous one they were new to them and probably not sure what to expect.
The owner has gone on record this week and said. If Chris Wilder wasn’t in a job. He’d go for him. Seems safe to me. At the mo.
The thing is if Chris Wilder wasn't already at Sheffield United, he'd probably be top of the list of candidates to appoint to get them back up! They haven't been good enough this season, but despite shocking points total, nor have they been embarrassed or outclassed in too many games. Surely he should get a chance to recover next season.
He had tit on in the radio interviews yesterday, blamed the reason for being at the bottom due to fans.
