This is where I massively object to some of the comments in these threads. Kate had to put the groundwork in to get to where she is with the British Press today. I'm not saying that's fair or right, I suppose it shouldn't really happen at all, but I've listed already some of the awful headlines she had herself. She was accused of being overweight, she got the nickname 'Waity Katie', was accused of desperately wanting to marry in to the Royal Family for the fame and money, told to go out and 'get a proper job' before having the audacity to announce an engagement to a Prince, they had their phones tapped, she had the reports that the Queen didn't like her and was giving her the cold shoulder, and she also had the media frenzy that was Prince William's alleged affair. Don't forget how the media created a 'Goddess' in her sister which is essentially saying 'you're not the prettiest woman at your own wedding'. She had no easy ride at all and wasn't from a background of being in the public eye - can you imagine how that felt? Not saying that it's easier for Meghan, but she chased the Hollywood lifestyle, achieved what she did, so will have been far more experienced at what then came her way - regardless of if it was appropriate or not. Must be the media you consume because Meghan hasn't disappeared from what I've seen. Sponsored Twitter posts non-stop for the last two months.
Fair enough on the first bit, I’m probably misremembering a lot about that time. On the last bit, I haven’t seen any sponsored Twitter posts at all. Tweets from who? If it’s by them surely it’s proving my point? That they are controlling what they put out themselves rather than whatever photos etc the media wants to put out.
I think a lot of people are forgetting, misremembering, or even at times across some of the platforms deliberately leaving what Kate went through out as it doesn't fit the narrative they're trying to land. Not tweets sponsored by them. Fashion magazines and brands. So likely not their own content - but all positive and no doubt part of the big PR plan linked to the Oprah interview. They're not daft in LA in terms of maximising exposure.
Depends on if he qualifies as in a "Position of Trust" in the UK - if he isn't, then he is in the clear. If it was in the USA, then it is statutory rape in many states irrespective of consent. There are also allegations that some of the girls were under 16 at the time.
Chinese whispers because half a story was told by Meghan. Either say who it is or don't tell the story because now different members of the family will be getting accused in a guessing game.
im willing to bet that at least 95% of people commentating in this thread (and i'll include myself) haven't seen the full interview.
Yeah, it might be a misunderstanding, the person in question might have been worried about hair colour rather than skin!
Do you think i am that the P? I just dont get it all. Is there institutional racism within the royal family? Or is it something else? Just asking.
