    If there has been one it would have taken place by now. It's not rained as much as forecast yesterday so any surface water on there come kick off will be sprinklers finest.

    The Winters of 1978/79 and 1981/82 were also severe and the postponements of fixtures and rearranged fixtures was commonplace.

    Since my first match in 1966, I’m struggling to remember one game other than this against Derby that has been postponed for a waterlogged pitch at Oakwell.
