Do you reckon Romal had a bad first half?

Obviously Val saw summat, and he was right as it's turned out, but I'm not sure that Kane made the difference so much as the forwards switch?

Styles made a massive difference too with his pressing

Oh, Styles and the forwards definitely made the biggest difference. I like Palmer. In 12 months he could be a really good player. I think he gets sucked into just playing first time hooks up front too often at the moment. Kane played a couple of through balls in that is the type of thing that allowed us to set up camp in their half.
Styles, for me, was superb though. Won countless tackles, ranged forward constantly.

He played really well. Hopefully we'll see more of why the Donny fans raved about him because he should take confidence from today.

I think Palmer has struggled recently, but in Kane and Halme I think we have two able replacements. It’ll be interesting to see who starts against Wycombe.

Incidentally I think Styles has struggled the last few games too so wasn’t surprised to see Williams start. But when he came off the bench he was terrific.

Maybe time to give Palmer a rest and hope he has the same sort of impact off the bench as Styles had today?

I think Halme might start against Wycombe. But Val could resign Mike Pollitt and play him alongside Mowatt and I’d trust he’s made the right call.

Yes probably his best half-game. Might well have benefited from a good rest. Palmer didn't do a lot wrong to be fair but maybe he needs a rest.

Exactly what I was thinking. It must be really tiring for these young lads to be playing with such high energy, twice a week with no respite.

One of the things I love about watching us on telly. Their right back plays the ball down the line to his player, then styles arrives on the screen from the right and takes it off him. can’t see him cos he’s out of shot, but you just know he’s going to appear

Lost count of the times Styles won the ball back. Fantastic performance.

Great team performance, but one moment stood out for me; Dike chasing a defender down the line, sudden burst of pace, excellent tackle nicking the ball off the defender out for a throw in to us. Exactly what you want in the last 5 minutes when you're winning by the odd goal in 5.

I’d say to Kane “Ok lad, you did the business for half a game. Do it again the next two games and you’re in for the rest of the season “

Yes I loved that as well and he FINALLY made a great tackle without the whistle blowing against him

You could see Dike clenching his fist at winning the throw in. Shows how they've all bought into big Val's vision.

He's got that little Cruyff-esque turn at LWB position to bring it out of trouble nailed too.

Pleased for Herbie Kane today, let’s hope he shows more of what he is capable of in the coming weeks.

I think you might mean that if he does well he's in for the next game.

To say otherwise would be - obviously - ridiculous.

I like palmer and there is a player there. I do think at times he plays nice and tidy.......kane came on and played his best game (imho) for us.
His "presence was for more effective, hope he can build on this performance.
