I'll tell you a world thats gone mad, Bournemouth being famous at playing football and even gracing the Premier League Here's their ***** history pre money man
Remember Bournemouth winning 1-0 at Oakwell one Saturday in the 80s/90s. I think they brought about 25 fans.
'Fans' like that are just foolish. They're also artificially patronising. If your team loses then unless you have been unlucky you hold your hands up and say 'well done'. Doesn't matter if its Accrington or Arsenal you've lost to.
I really hope the Russian fella ***** off soon with the parachute money and they end up back at the bottom of L2 the tinpot fuckers. They've had 8/9 years of highs including a few years in the PL and they're giving it the billy big ********! It's about time they took their rightful place back in the pecking order. That would soon wipe the smile off BBC Solent's John Williams!
They lose around £35m in their last accounts and owe the owner over £110m. Almost makes the guys in S6 look frugal!!
I've no axe to grind with Bournemouth, but christ on a bike they really are a tiny club, just lucky enough to have a very wealthy owner, their natural habitat is low to mid table league 2
We all tend to complain when we lose. It'd be great if finance was removed from the football equation. Cos if it was Val would have us top of the value-for-money league.
I think that form table over the years is the only thing we have to go on when we judge the size of a club. Bournemouth and Wigan are peas from the same pod.
Their coaching staff can’t even cheer loudly for their team in an empty stadium - watching the goals on Sky Sports app the cheering when Barnsley scored was twice as loud as when Bournemouth did
The teams like Poster on their forum ruffled a few feathers. When you’re team gets beat by Barnsley respond with derogatory comments about the town. Victory is so sweet tonight.
Had a read on the Bournemouth board earlier and nearly every poster was slagging Philip Billing’s performance off. So I had a quick google on him and found out they had paid Huddersfield £18 million for his services. Speaks volumes for the way we are running our club.
My cousins came up from Bournemouth for that game and were as shocked as I was when they returned South with all three points. Their performance in that game, can best be described as dogged. We had a family get together after the game and I always remember I was as miserable as sin.
My great Aunt was from Barnsley and bought a house on Sandbanks and passed away there. I visited many times. Shame those same friendly people seem so disrespectful of our Town and people.
Some nice people in the Sandbanks area ML. Cousin originally had a beach hut at Branksome Chine eventually renting one after twenty years on Sandbanks. After he retired he took on the management of the Crazy Golf site on Sandbanks and I used to go up and help him at his busiest times. Met some really personable Local folk as well as some on holiday. Not unusual to see Liam Gallagher enjoying a coffee at the local Italian coffee shop, or Harry Rednapp excercising his dogs. One season spotted Tony Blackburn, Paul McCartney and Russ Abbott all of whom had homes in the area as did Kevin Keegan.
